Gina THey are all good Chandler. Personally, I liked The Pact the best.

Anna | 81 comments I have read all four books and my order of preference is The Pact, Nineteen Minutes, Vanishing Acts, and then the Tenth Circle. I enjoyed both The Pact and Nineteen Minutes--almost equally, but (for me) Nineteen Minutes the whole teen culture got to me (I have a 13 year old) so I would put The Pact ahead of it. Vanishing Acts did not stick with me--I would actually need to reread it. I really disliked The Tenth Circle. I detested every character in that book--it is on my To Be Read list as perhaps I should give it a second chance.

Eileen Chavez | 40 comments Anna, you have to read My Sister's Keeper. I have read that one, Nineteen Minutes, Handle With Care, Keeping Faith and A Change of Heart. My Sister's Keeper and A Change of Heart were my two faves. I read The Year of Fog by Michelle Richmond as it was recommended by this reading group and I LOVED it!! I highly recommend you read that one too along with the other Picoult books.

Anna | 81 comments I loved The Year of Fog! I forgot how much I enjoyed that book and it reminded me to look for more Michelle Richmond books. I am going to read No One You Know. That book was compared to The Lovely Bones. Have you read it?

Jaime | 74 comments Chandler,

From the books you mentioned, I would pick Nineteen Minutes hands down. My Sister's Keeper, Nineteen Minutes and Plain Truth are my favorite Picoult books.

As a side note- have you read Perfect Match yet? There are characters from that book in Nineteen Minutes, but Perfect Match takes place at an earlier time in their lives. It isn't necessary to have read it, but I do remember some details about characters' lives in Perfect Match that I already sort of knew the answers to b/c I read 19 minutes first. It doesn't give away major plot details, though.

No, but I did get it. I am reading "The Pilot's Wife" by Anita Shreve and really like it. When I'm done I'm reading "No One You Know."

I've only read two out of the ones listed: The Pact and The Tenth Circle. The Tenth Circle was pretty good, but The Pact was amazing. I also got my roommate to read it and she actually made it all the way through it (which is saying a lot about the book :]) I've also heard Nineteen Minutes is really good!

I have read Nineteen Minutes which I liked but not as much as the others I have read by her. I haven't read The Pact or Vanishing Act or Tenth Circle. I thought Handle With Care was good.

Eileen Chavez | 40 comments Yes, I did read The Lovely Bones and liked it a lot.

message 10: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1 comments Oh Gosh! I've read nearly all of her books and it's so hard to choose a favorite. The very first Jodi Picoult I read was My Sisters Keeper, followed by the Pact...and from there I was hooked. Whichever order you do choose, I would recommend keeping the following 6 books in order (The Pact, Keeping Faith, Salem Falls, Perfect Match, Second Glance, and Nineteen Minutes). These six books are the ones that have some reoccurring characters that overlap and it's nice to know some of their stories from the beginning.

Eileen Chavez | 40 comments Thanks for that info about reading the books in order. Read Keeping Faith before A Change of Heart as both have recurring characters too.

No, I didn't find The Lovely Bones to be a gory book. Read it because it's very good. The movie is not like the book as it's too hard of a book to adapt to the screen.

I read The Lovely Bones a few years ago, and as far as i remember it wasn't gory. It was suspensful and considering it was the first book that i read of that authors, i really enjoyed it. My parents saw the movie and i don't know how different it was from that actual book. But you should definitely give it a try. everyone that i know of that's read it, loved it.
