Cary (vortigern) | 804 comments Considering immortality is a given. Different vampire mythos attribute certain strengths to vampires. I myself like teleportation and shape shifting from clouds of mist to animals forms. Dracula could control the weather a very powerful tool as well. Dracula was the only vampire I have ever heard capable of this power. He had attentended the Scholomance school of dark arts. Few vampires even come close to Dracula who raised himself from the dead with black magic. He was not a made vampire. Truly he was the King of his kind.

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 16 comments Shape Shifting would be great!

message 3: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 804 comments Yeah shape shifting is cool. Sauron in Lord of the Rings was a master shape shifter for a long time until he led Neaumenor to destruction by God after tricking them into attacking the Valamir. Then Sauron became a vampire for many centuries. According to the Silmarillion. I forgot one I like. The ability to control minds & hypnotize.

Valeria | 8 comments immortality, never granted wish of all mankind.though their seductiveness makes me wonder... Smiley

Bella (RumanaRu) | 7 comments i love speed but shape shifting as well

message 6: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 804 comments Yeah either by speed or teleportation the ability to show up suddenly next to someone is pretty trick. Then to disapear the same way. Like Damon & Stephan do all the time on The Vampire Diaries. Since TrueBlood has such a short season I have had to get into the Diaries a bit. I really like Damon. I like Damon better than Eric actually. I guess because he is younger. I just dig his attitude. Like when he says. " Yeah I kinda enjoy being the eternal stud". That so cracked me up plus he is so evil. Just what a vampire should be.

Kimathy my fave vamp power would have to be.... between healing spit and flitting ( both from the Cirque Du Freak series)

message 8: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 804 comments I like the Cirque du Freak series very much. Mostly because it is not the same old hot vampire guy meets hot mortal chic crap. It actually has some originality. I especially like the Traveling Freak Circus. I like vampires that have occult majic powers. Shape shifting, teleportation, thought control. Dracula had it all goin on.

message 9: by Kimathy (new)

Kimathy nice, mind control doesn't sound that bad lol

Cary (vortigern) | 804 comments Now read Carmilla. Best vampire story ever written. WORD. Free online by Sheridan Le Fanu

message 14: by Ellice (new)

Ellice (satanlovesme) carmilla? what's that about

message 15: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 804 comments It's one of the best known Vampire stories. It is about a girl Vampire in Styria, present day Romania. It was written in 1872. It is the oldest, and best Vampire story written in English. It was written in Dublin by an Irishman. Twenty yesrs latter another Irishman from Dublin would write Dracula. The two best vampire stories ever written. They are not cheesy pulp romance series books either. But real ddeal vampire stories :)

message 16: by Ellice (new)

Ellice (satanlovesme) are they the 'real' hardcore vamps that burn in the sun? or is it some twilight glittery vamp shit?

message 17: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 804 comments Real vamps don't burn in the sun. That is a Hollywood creation, and not Gothic vampire mythos. It looks cool to see the vamp burst into flame on film. In all the oldest books. Vampires can walk in the day. I really like vampire stories. I read all of them. I just didn't start reading vampire books when Anne Rice came out, LOL. :)

message 18: by Ellice (new)
