I think Poirot is to anal for me - I'd always be in trouble. Probably Ms. Marple would be more forgiving.

Ms. Marple is even worse. She'd thwack you with an incisive riposte just for daring to voice your opinion. She's anal with a capital A, and deeply frustrated I think. I can imagine Poirot actually discussing alternative insights in a civilised manner. But not Ms. Marple. Certainly not her. She has her own agenda and is not interested in any form of dialogue. Ms. Marple knows the agenda and that's all there is to it. She's simplistic and essentially infantile, not open to alternatives, stuck in her course which she knows best. All in her head, where wisdom lies. Poirot on the other hand is open to suggestions, and values input and alternative viewpoints that might shed more light on the situation.

Well, I must agree with you David ...Poirot is indeed open to suggestions and this is valuable in any kind of partnership.... Maybe he would be angry right now... Who dares to mention partnership with Poirot!

message 15: by David (new)

David I don't think Poirot gets angry, just upset when he suspects he's being played with.
