Feel like reading something light? action packed? horror? ask here and maybe one of us can help :)

eyndor (renierstander) I need some help with a gift for one of my clients, looking for a relatively new Fantasy author. He's read most of the older fantasy stuff, so looking for something fresh. I know his favourite is the A Song of Ice and Fire series, but he obviously owns all of them.

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) | 1779 comments I absolutely love Fantasy, but I've read only a smidgen of what's out there. I don't like to recommend books I haven't read and only heard others rave about, but I'll make an exception. My very good friend who also loves his fantasy and has read nearly a library full of epic fantasy (hehe), has been pestering me about The Riyera Revelations series by Michael J. Sullivan for months! It's 6 books in 3 omnibus editions:

Theft of Swords (The Riyria Revelations, #1-2) by Michael J. Sullivan Rise of Empire (The Riyria Revelations, #3-4) by Michael J. Sullivan Heir of Novron (The Riyria Revelations, #5-6) by Michael J. Sullivan

Also Patrick Rothfuss' - The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear , something I feel embarrassed not to have read yet.

Cat Hellisen (clhellisen) I'm a big fan of The Lies of Locke Lamora and its sequel.

eyndor (renierstander) Thank you Claudia and Cat. I think the Riyera Revelations series is a winner. Looks like the sort of thing he'd enjoy.
