CJ | 16 comments Which e-book reader is your favorite? I struggled over whether to get a nook or a kindle 2. My choice was made for me by a very nice father-in-law buying the kindle for my birthday, but I wonder what you e-book fans think of the first generation nook. I was very surprised at how many free e-books there were for the kindle at Amazon and how easy it was to transfer many of the e-books I got from other sources to the reader.

Nicky (shanaqui) | 8 comments Neither: I'm enamoured of my Sony Pocket Reader. Perhaps not as easy to put books onto as the Kindle is said to be, but I love it dearly. Wrote a proper review of it, somewhere...

CJ | 16 comments I used to read on my PDA. Dedicated readers seem to be much better.

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For I have a Kindle and really like it, but have no experience with the Nook (and no plan on rushing out and trying it) so can't comment from personal experience.

From what I've read the Kindle is currently better, primarily because of some major software glitches from the Nook roll out. Once these are fixed, they might even out quite a bit. Many of the main features are either essentially identical or form fairly even trade-offs so its mostly a matter of which features are most important to you.

There are supposed to be 4-5 new ebook readers on the market this year (not counting a reasonably likely Kindle 3 release), so there should be more options and competition (hopefully driving each other to be better) in the near future.

Laurie Armstrong (ginseng) I've been using my iPod touch and I really like it. Although, I have never touched a Kindle or nook so I don't know how they are superior. I'm finding the iPod convenient and I can download, convert and read just about any format!

For years I been using my old Palm Pilot with Mobireader. Now I read on my Blackberry but I only read little bits at a time with it.

John (johnc53) | 1 comments I created and read ebooks on a Palm device for 11 years. I now read on my Sony PRS-600 Touch edition. This reader allows me to create my own documents (Adobe PDF, text, Word 2007, and others) and sync them effortlessly. I'm very pleased with my Sony eReader product.
