Jessie | 128 comments Hi All!

So I need some help remembering and author/story I read some time ago. I swore it was in one of the LKH anthologies, but going over the descriptions it is not like that was the case.

So all I can remember is this girl who was in a house that was by the sea and she had some kind of "intruder" incident or she had been witness to something and I think it involved some sort of Ocean Shifter???

Anyone have any thoughts???

You guys are the best so I am sure someone will know what the heck I am talking about!!!

Thanks!!!

✿Dawn✿ (pigelet25) | 11 comments Hey Jessie, Not sure if this will help you. There is a series of books by MaryJanice Davidson. They are the Fred the Mermaid Series. They are " Sleeping with the Fishes", " Swimming with out a Net" and " Fish out of Water".

In Book 1, Fred gets a call from her Mother that the Prince of the Merfolk needs to see her and is at their home on the ocean. When she gets there she tears the back door off and finds the Prince is there and hes Tall, flaming red hair. No harm to the family just intimidating. And they do shift from human form to Mermaid form.

Not sure if that is the book that you are talking about. But it is a fun series none the less if you want to check it out.

Hope this helped =o)
Dawn

Jessie | 128 comments I definitely read this short story in an anthology. And I know that is not it, though that one does sound fun. OH wait...I think I just remembered more of it. I think the "crime" that happened was that her roommate/friend either disappeared or was murdered and she kept seeing someone walking along the shore...

✿Dawn✿ (pigelet25) | 11 comments hmmm... No thats not that series. But now I'm interested lol.

It is a fun series, if you are looking for light/ easy reads those will do =o) Hope you find out who this Author is, sounds like it was a good story!

Melissa Was it by Christine Feehan? One of her Drake Sisters short stories? I read Lover Beware and that sort of sounds like it. In "Magic in the Wind" the female lead is the one with powers, but I remember a huge scene with an intruder so it sounded a bit familiar. It was actually the male main character that was a witness, but it sounds like it could be this story. Hope that rings some bells!

Jessie | 128 comments Thanks for trying Melissa, but that was not it either :( This is going to drive me insane. I am moving soon so I will have to pack up all my books soon. I am hoping that I still have that anthology somewhere is my mass of books.

Sally (larwos) | 258 comments I've read that quite recently, but i cant for the life of me remember the title or author. I remember the murderer then tried to get Rachel? and her blocking the windows because he could come through as a mist - does that sound something like it or am I mixing up stories? I'll let my subconcsiouss work on it and see what it comes up with. I do remember it was a really good and scary story. Seem to remember the hero was quite dishy too.

Jessie | 128 comments Ooh...I think you may be onto it Sally...that sounds familiar!!!

Martina the Book Fairy (book_fairy) | 442 comments It sounds like the first book in Alyssa Day's "Warriors of Poseiden" series, Atlantis Rising. The fifth book in this series is coming out in March, I believe.

Atlantis Rising (Warriors of Poseidon, #1) by Alyssa Day

Jessie | 128 comments It wasn't a full book, that much I know...it was in an anthology for sure! Thanks though....

message 11: by Caleb (new)

Caleb (ccp981) It sounds super familiar. I think that it was in Strange Candy by Laurell K. Hamilton .
I will have to check my copy when I get home. I'll let you know if I find it!

Jessica Bair-Epps | 725 comments I know there is a story in Strange Candy like that I read it last month

message 13: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 128 comments YAY!!! Mystery solved it is Edge of the Sea from Strange Candy, though I am a little disappointed. I read this so long ago that I knew it was in an Anthology, but didn't think it was LKH. Why am I disappointed? Because I was thinking I would see if there was a series or full novel based on this because I remember liking it so much and thought I would check out more from this author. Well, DUH!!! I have read absolutely EVERYTHING from LKH so I am out of luck here. Maybe I will check out some of the other titles suggested in here. (not that I don't have plenty of books in my TBR pile....

message 16: by Jessie (new)

Jessie | 128 comments Well, it's not very long at all, but it must have stood out since I read it over 3 years ago when this collection first came out. I packed it last night to bring with me on my non-skiing/ski vacation that I start tomorrow! So Thanks Carla!!! I never thought to look at Strange Candy cuz eventhough I knew it was in an anthology with LKH, I really didn't think it was LKH...LOL

new_user | 1389 comments Hey, Jessie, I hate it when I'm disappointed like that. If it helps, there's a pretty good ocean shifter series by Virginia Kantra. You might want to check them out. I especially loved the third book. <3

Sea Witch (Children of the Sea, #1) by Virginia Kantra Sea Fever (Children of the Sea, #2) by Virginia Kantra Sea Lord (Children of the Sea, #3) by Virginia Kantra
