What can I say? This is a re-read for me. I have now read it like 6 times. I love the book. It only takes me about a day to read because I can't put it down. This book adds a whole new twist on fallen angels. Great story line with action and a little bit of a love story.

This book was better than the first one. I am glad I read this because right after I had to read the next book Brisinger. Christopher Paolini grew as an author through this book and it shows in his writing. Eragon and Roran share this book. It goes back and forth between what is happening around them. Eragon learns more about himself and being a Dragon Rider. Roran goes after the women he loves, Katrina.

I tried to read my second chance (Guilty Pleasures) but again had a hard time getting into it. So I moved onto unbound. I'll try again later.
I just finished The Third Circle by Amanda Quick. It's one of her Arcane Society books and fits between Second Sight and The Perfect Poison. I liked it. 4 stars.

How do you copy your entire post and then re-post it without having to add all the book covers etc.??
I just go back to my last post, bring it up for edit and copy the contents, and then paste that in a new entry box and make the necessary updates.

Shiver was fantastic. Great characters, excellent writing, a really cool take on werewolves. It will be hard to wait until mid-summer for the sequel. I highly recommend it.
Another great book from Elizabeth Vaughan. White Star continued right where Dagger-Star left off, but with different main characters. Vaughan does such a great job with mixing just the right amount of romance, magic, and adventure. I'm looking forward to her next book which she thoughfully and cleverly lets the reader know which characters will be the next books main characters. She continues to be my favorite author.
I was a little disappointed by Staked. There were some inconsistencies in the world that was created. Sometimes to the point of confusing the hell out of me. Lots of sarcasm and dry humor, which is good, decent characters and an okay plot. I'm sure I will read the sequel, but I'm not rushing out to buy it based on this book.

ALL ABOUT AUTHORS - MARTINA'S LIST - 3/10 COMPLETED!Just finished Heart Change, the 8th book in Robin D. Owens' Celta's HeartMates series, which I give 5 stars.
The HeartMate series books take place on the faraway planet of Celta - a place where nearly everyone has some form of psychic power - or Flair. Sometimes the Flair of two people resonate in a particular way to create the much valued HeartMate relationship. Celta is a world with a complex society of classes, including the sentient Residences in the Great Houses and the psychic FamPets (FamCat, FamDog, FamFox - you get the picture).
In Heart Change we meet a new protagonist, Signet D'Marigold. Signet is the last of the Marigold family and though she has great Flair, the type is unknown. Until the young teenage prophet Vinnie T'Vine barges into her life claiming she is a Catalyst and is the key to saving the life of a highly-Flaired noble child, Avellana Hazel. Vinnie arranges for Avellana to stay with Signet until it is clear that Avellana is out of psychic danger. But that's not the only thing Vinnie arranges. He also arranges for a series favorite - Hawthorne family guardsman, Cratag Maytee, to be loaned to Signet as a bodyguard for Avellana. Suddenly, the previously empty and lonely D'Marigold Residence is full of the energy of multiple people, the ring of children's laughter, and possibly even a blooming love between Signet and Cratag. That is, if they can both overcome not only issues in their past, but the danger facing them and their young charge.
I LOVE this series. Along with Jayne Castle's GhostHunter series, it's one of my favorite of all times. I'm very much looking forward to Book 9 of the series, Heart Journey, due to be released in August 2010.

Child of a Dead God, by Barb and JC Hendee ★ ★ ★(my full review)I was disappointed in this last book of Series 1 of the Noble Dead Saga. I ended up giving it 3,5 stars, which is a shame cause these series deserved a better ending.
The Hendees have a tendency of being overly descriptive and telling rather than showing us what happens. This book was no exception. But with the end of the road nearing and the possibility of the clashing destinies of Leesil and Magière becoming reality, I had expected some fears, doubts, anything!
I really missed Magière and Leesil this book, I wanted to be in their heads, learn their thoughts and feel their feelings but none of that happened.

The short story Seeing Eye by Patricia Briggs, from the anthology Strange Brew. ★ ★ ★
The story was only 38 pages so I wasn’t surprised for the lack of plot. There also wasn’t much romance but we did see some sparks of interest. Despite the very thin and simple plot I did like the story, but that might have been mostly due to the fact that I knew Tom and Moira from Hunting Ground.

Rob Thurman is pretty great, I've read all her books so far, Trick of the Light was not as good as The Cal Leandros books (which starts with Nightlife). So, if you don't like Trick of Light, consider trying the other series before giving up on her.
I liked Trick of the Light. I have liked everything Thurman puts out. She is not ooie gooie lovie dovie type of gal. The Cal seris reminds me of the tv Supernatural. I love Goodfellow, what a character!
Goodfellow is my favorite too and he makes a small appearance in both series. I didn't love TotL. And I can't say why without spoiling anything. I guess I could say, I think the way the story was put together could have been done better. BUT now that it's done, I think I'll really enjoy any more books from that series.

Slow going, since I'm in so many challenges this month :(
I am looking forward to the next book in both series. The Trickster series has a different POV each book. It is different from her Cal series. I love Cal! Niko is a fav too.
I didn't know she was going to change the POV each book for the Trickster Series...interesting. I like that she added Niko as another POV for the Cal Leandros books though.
Well, I think I'm officially done with Sunny, unless her next book turns out to get fantastic reviews. I'll keep an eye out but I'm not keeping my hopes up.1. Favorite Author: Embrace the Night Eternal by Joss Ware aka Colleen Gleason
