I don't know why it took me so long to get through Wondrous Strange. I gave it 3 stars but it was hard for me to stick with this story. The premise is cute, about a 17 year old in a production of Midsummer Night's dream, and then her real life starts to resemble the character she portrays.
I think I will read the Dark Divine next.

I hate that as well. I really like books better when the pn is part of the know would for the most part. There are exceptions of course but the Surpise factor is not really a thrill.
What changes in the 3rd book?

Honestly, I would read it only if someone let me borrow it or it magically appeared in my e-books. It is not a book I would spend money on when there are much better books I want to buy.

I thought the anthology was a nice little mixture of stories. It was actually two stories out of two series. I really enjoyed Erin McCarthy's additions to the book. The main characters are include members of the last royal family of Russia whose bodies were never found in real life after their assasinations. Being a history lover of royal families I know the historical account Zsar's family. Realizing really quickly where the author was going with the characters made me feel like I knew them already. If you are looking for a quick fun read I would recommend this book. But watch out. It may drive you to want to find the full length books of the series to read. I will probably be picking up a few on my next trip to the book store.

I loved this book! I actually dind’t expect to like it so much as normally I think anthologies are ‘just okay’. But this book read like a full novel. It showed us insight in three generations of Danverses (Malcolm, Jeremy and Clay) and was just wonderfully engaging. I loved Clay’s POV and loved to learn more about his past, Jeremy and his relationship with the infamous Malcolm.
A must read for fans of the the Women of the Otherworld series.

Typically they don't count, Annvelwis. Most of us will either not show them at all or put them under our list as "other books read this month" but they don't actually count toward the challenge if they don't have at least some paranormal element to them.

8)Male Author- Rob Thurman-Trick of the Light (Trickster, #1)
Actually, Amelia, hate to tell you, but Rob Thurman is a girl.
(I'm in the same boat abt. finding a male author I want to read. One of my faves has reached the end of his series, & I don't know if Jack Campbell's writing any more Lost Fleet books. Sigh.)

Beast Master's Circus While a re-read I love, love LOVE Andre's work, and have since I was introduced to her as a 13 year old girl. The last 3 books of this series (Beast Master's Ark and Beast Master's Quest being books 3 and 5, were written many, many many years after the first 2. The Beast Master and Lord of Thunder. Like about 30 or so years, I believe. And in that time, story telling has changed. The first 2 books were straight forward sci-fi adventure. The last 3 actually included a love interest, something that the 2 earler books had no sign of, simply because of the different climate from the early 60's to now.
Of course, it helps that 2 of the main characters in this book are cats--Surra, who is a genetically enhanced Dune cat--and Prauo, a felinoid alien who looks a LOT like a very large (80 pounds or so) Siamese. (And what can I say--I've been brain-washed by my cats into believing that cats--especially Siamese cats--are the highest life-form there is.) :oP
My computer is still acting up a bit--and I've been sick too (anyone have a good recipe for an ipecac cake? Want to "thank" the idiot my husband works with who insisted on coming to work and then coughing, sneezing and breathing on everyone else just so that they too could share the fun and joy of having the flu.) When sick, I basically shut down and do nothing but sleep--except for stomach bugs, of course.

I've posted info above my list that 2 of my books are not paranormal from the very beginning so I'm a bit surprised it's only now I get the response ;)
Fortunately, there's still time to read something else instead...
I can, for example, reread Paolini despite the fact that I don't want to do that for two reasons: I wait till 4th part of Inheritance is published before rereading the series; and I don't feel like rereading Paolini right now. Has anyone found another author that writes/wrote paranormal/fantasy for 1983? I didn't, so I turned to another genre.
I used Under the Dome by Stephen King for male author category and... Well, it's sci-fi (more or less), not paranormal. I can read another book in that category, of course. I would rather not do it, though, if only because Under the Dome took me awhile to read it... (it's more that 1000 pages and I didn't found the book all that marvellous not to noice it every now and then).
So, I'll wait for Yz decision.

Sorry, Annvelwis for the late response. I must have missed the original post.
Martina was right, I do encourage that as much as possible, books in the challenge should have a PNR element. However, Charlotte was also right in pointing out, that I did mention in previous challenges, that if you want to slip 1-3 non-pnr books in the challenge, I would not blink about it. And I don't, as long as it doesn't go far more than that. That really is more out of respect for the group that we are hanging out than anything else, since obviously people joined this group because they like paranormal books.
So everything is cool, Annvelwis. Thanks for the vigilance, Martina. And great memory, Charlotte. :)

I really enjoyed Staked and recommend it to the UF lovers out there. It had humor, gore, vamps, weres and action. The reviews range all the way from 1-5★, so it's definitely not for everyone. But, just thought I'd throw out my recommendation. :)
