The Social Media Connection! Facebook and Twitter

Thank you so much for doing this. I love GoodReads but it lacks some of the immediacy of the social networking sites.

FBC has not blocked anyone. At all. All are welcome to follow. Are you sure the account you checked was the proper one? Maybe there was an IP address glitch. That happens sometimes. Twitter is a bit buggy some days. Try again? :)

No, there isn't. But my Twitter name is sleo1, so you can search for me. Many Goodreads members are on Twitter.
Send a message to Viktoria to suggest it! She's our Twitter queen :)

More and more readers have taken the plunge into ebooks, either through dedicated devices (like the Kindle or Nook) or their smart phones and free apps from Amazon, Barnes & Noble and others, including me (Nook Color as gift from husband). Last Friday, a new blog, including a Facebook page and Twitter feed, launched called 'the Cheap' or 'Cheap e-Reads' with supporting Facebook pages for childrens' books (Nook Jr), young adult (Nook Teen), Christian (Casting Pearls) and romance (Nook Love). Sadly, no other genres were singled out.
So, I'm attempting to ferret out any fantasy fiction gems that pass through the flood of postings each day and share them via our Facebook feed (which is echoed in Twitter as well).
If you would like to see science fiction titles as well, let me know.
Enjoy,
Jon

We're talking about the Fantasy Book Club Facebook page here.

You can follow me on Twitter @JKMillerII"
Liked it! Please see: http://www.facebook.com/pages/fantasy...

Check out my http://www.fantasyREADERS.com site - great place (since 2002) to announce books, etc. (all free site).

I "liked" it! See http://www.facebook.com/pages/fantasy...
Our web site also has had over 400k downloads! It's free content (excerpts, etc.) but a great promotional site!

But, please consider the entire "thing" about Facebook is the "like for like" (viral capabilities). If people like like-minded sites, those people who follow/like/etc will find it! For example, we have over 2200 people who "like" our Facebook page, so I posted for people to check out The Fantasy Book Club FB page on the fantasyREADERS FB page so many of THOSE people will then go and (hopefully) like the Fantasy Book Club page (and Goodreads). It's a good thing to cross pollinate!

Fine. Like us and post on our Facebook page, not here.

I'll like you all!! Four days until my debut novel release!! Can you say #heartattackmeltdown

@enantoiel on twitter. I'm not very active on twitter, though

I signed up for them but haven't worked out how it works. Any pointers?"
Following a person on G+ is similar to twitter. You add the person in a circle and start following their posts. That person do not have to add you back or permit you add.
Circles let you put your friends list into categories and G+ lets you choose which circles can view your posts. For example, you can share a post to those you have in your circles, or those who are in the circles of your friends (extended circles), or circles like family, co-workers etc. or you can share publicly. Public posts can be seen by anyone who view your g+ page. You can name your circles anything you want, people on that circle won't see the name of the circle you add them.
These are the first things that comes to mind. If you have questions, I'll be glad to help.
