Grace | 42 comments Oh I totally agree. It seemed like they were running to a fire every few hours and I'd love a bit more on the romantic side, oh well. Is THE SEARCH any good? I might start that next

I LOVED The Search! If you love dogs, you'll like it even more.

message 53: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) I just cracked open Holiday in Death. I read the first 5 straight through and took a break. Now I'm back to lusting after Roarke!

Don't be surprised if you get hung up with Eve and Roarke for the next five books:)

I have read all of Diana Gabaldon's books. I agree I really liked the books although they had a tendency to drag. Still there was a lot of action. Echo to the Bone was the best. That one did not drag, I guess Diana is getting better with writing (Outlander was her first book ever) However, it ended on a cliff hanger and she says it takes 3 years to write a new one.

message 56: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessamc) | 646 comments Cliffhangers can sure be frustrating, but it's great when the book comes out. I like to find a series late and then I don't have to wait. It's like getting a bonus!!

Tyraa, as far as The Search goes, I love dogs but it dragged for me. I liked the information, though. It's just that some of her romance hunks are better in other books.

message 57: by Grace (new)

Grace | 42 comments I'm not very fussed about dogs, so I may put The Search off till later. OHHH I'm in the mood to read about some hunks. Any suggestions? :)

Have you read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J. R. Ward or the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian?

Are you looking for books similar to the In Death series??
I would suggest anything by Julie James. Her books are connected but can be read individually. They aren't listed as a series, but read them in order of release date.
Just the Sexiest Man Alive
Practice Makes Perfect
Something About You
A Lot Like Love (this was just released a few months ago)

or try reading the I-team series.
Extreme Exposure is the first book.

I've been meaning to read both these series but haven't yet. I hear great things about both series tho.

OOh I like Julie James, I've only read the first two and need to play catch up but her heroes are always amazing!

And I've only read book 1 in the I-team series and need to catch up but I like this series.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

message 62: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) I really like Julie James. the I-Team was good, not as good as Eve and Roarke but the same type of book.

message 63: by Grace (new)

Grace | 42 comments I'm going to have to finish reading the series I think. OH I don't think I've found any couple that's good as Eve & Roarke. No one even comes close

message 64: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments My mom just called me today and told me to get the book The Art of Racing in the Rain. I guess it is a dog's perspective to life. Both she and my sister loved it. I have it ordered at the library

Karon (agmommy) | 182 comments Dee ~ Did you stop and read the Lord John series after Voyager? I'm about 200 pages from the end of Voyager and still undecided. I just love reading about Jamie & Claire!

message 66: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (ezepeze11) | 582 comments I am reading Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I must say, I was disappointed at first because all the reviews said it was amazing, PLUS it was mentioned/referenced to in both Suits and Necessary Roughness, and it took about 40 pages to get interesting. But once i got past those 40 pages, it's great! And I must admit, I'm hooked!

No I never did read that series. I did start it, but after reading the such a long series I just couldn't into it.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments I just just finished The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. What a great book! It is about a dog and his perspective of his owner, who is a race car drivier.

message 69: by Cher (new)

Cher (sharpei) | 61 comments In the middle of Conspiracy in Death, re-reading the entire series and the shorts. Looking forward to the other short coming out and NY-D. Read a snippet today from Ilona Andrews called Alpha Menz. Looks good, its coming out in Oct. in a Hexed anthology.

message 70: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessamc) | 646 comments My readings been as sporadic as I've been but, I managed to fit in Open Season and Dream Man by Linda Howard and Kiss of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning. I also finished Treachery in Death and am eagerly awaiting New York to Dallas.

message 71: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments Open Season is one of my top two favorite books, my other is Whitney My Love by Judith McNaught. Both of those other books you are reading are excellent

message 72: by Pixip (new)

Pixip | 5 comments About to start reading The Final Evolution by Jeff Somers. It's the latest part of a brilliant series a friend got me to read. It's kind of sci-fi dystopian world and the main character is seriously messed up and bad ass.

message 73: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessamc) | 646 comments If you're a Tess Gerritson fan, her latest Rizzoli and Isles book is The Silent Girl. I just finished it and it's great!!

message 78: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments I think I have read about seven of Iris Johansen books. They are great, but unfortunately she has a lot of series book and since I haven't read them in order I kind of got lost on a few of them.

I feel like that too. Maybe one day I'll read them in order. I'm now starting to read the FBI series by Catherine Coulter. I managed to get an MP3 copy of
The Maze. I wanted it because Susan Erickson is the reader. I'm going to listen as soon as I can get it on my IPod. After I finish Chaos in Death, of course. Another audio by Susan Erickson is Dying to Please by Linda Howard.

Kim | 4 comments I am reading Creation in Death, got stuck on these books approximately 1 year and 6 months and haven't been able to stop reading them since.

message 83: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessamc) | 646 comments I just finished Amanda by Kay Hooper and I'm now listening to Chasing the Night by Iris Johansen. The Eve Duncan series is one that I haven't read in order. Maybe I'll go back and do that one of these days.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 1070 comments I just finished an audio called Now you See Me... by Rochelle Krich. It was a mystery that was very, very different! An Hassidic Jewish crime writer, Molly Blume, is asked to look for the daughter of a Rabbi that ran off with her boyfriend. As you get into the book you find out that this is not as straightforward as you first think. I learned a lot about orthodox Judism along with a good story line. I am reading more of her books. A really intersting book.

message 87: by Patty (new)

Patty | 749 comments I am reading Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon this will be my 3rd or 4th reread of this book

message 88: by Karon (new)

I can't wait for you to read Echo to the Bone. Gabaldon's latest book. I think it is her best.

message 90: by Valerie (new)

That was my least favorite by her.

message 94: by Sherry (new)

Sherry | 20 comments After reading the last In Death book, I started the series over and read the ones I liked the best. Then I saw on Amazon that JK Rowling finally decided to put her series on ebook so now I started reading Harry Potter again. I have "short term" memory when it comes to books so it's like reading them for the first time! I also have to finish the Hunger Games which I started but I lost interest...somehow and now my daughters both tell me to get busy and read it again. I might stop HP and read the Hunger Games first since the movie is out.

message 95: by Sara ♥ (last edited Apr 06, 2012 03:18PM) (new)

message 99: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (askjenn) | 14 comments I finished up Ritual (27.5) a couple of weeks ago. I'd read like 10 in a row so I decided to take a break. Began reading the Dexter books by Jeff Lndsay. I'm still getting to know this Dexter... Its weird because I already know and love the Dexter form Showtime, and this one is very different! But he is slowly winning me over!

Also my boyfriend was reading the first Odd Thomas (Dean Koontz) book aloud to me and his kids. Its his favorite series. I imagine he will start Book 2 very soon!

message 100: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (askjenn) | 14 comments Oh P.S., I'm about to get my mother to join the "Eve & Roarke" cult :-P She picked up "Celebrity" just because she thought it sounded good. When I told her that was the latest, and she really ought to read the FORTY books before it, she went out and got "Naked" (boy, doesn't that sound funny?) and sent me a text the night she began :-)

Mom, you're in for one heck of a ride!!!!
