Zsadist is a vampire from The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by JR Ward. His book is Lover Awakened. He is easily the most tortured and tormented soul of the series. He is the most Alpha, the most amazing, the most handsome (despite his scar), the sexiest and best fighter of them all. And he's mine.

It's a great series, but because the storyline is ongoing, you should start with book 1, Dark Lover, and work your way through the series.

Yes, start from the beginning. You won't be able to fully apprecate it otherwise.

The first book took a little while to grab me. But once it did....man was I sucked in! It quickly became one of my faves.

I agree, Dark Lover, book 1 is the weakest of the series, but very important to read to understand the world JR Ward has created.

Lover Unbound
Lover Eternal
Lover Avenged
and soon to be released Lover Mine

I have to say that I fell pretty hard for Wrath in Dark Lover. I was drawn to all the new language and found myself wishing I was at that dam mating ceremony! Go back and reread it you may appreciate it more the 2nd time around now that you know all the Brothers.
Rachel I would not say that the 3rd book is the best I do think Z is HOT! I shed tears when I think about him with Nalla and Bella but you may find that you fancy another brother.

I had a hard time getting into it, I think, because the concept of vampire was so different. I'm sure I remember a hospital scene in the beginning. Are you sure you're reading Dark Lover?

Yes they have really good chemistry and some great sex he is a Brother after all. They are all totally HOT HOT HOT!!!

If you are having a hard time getting into it, hang tight. It's SOOO worth it! The chemistry is so great that I'm pretty sure Wrath and Beth are my favorite couple in the brotherhood.

The hospital scene is there... Butch isn't a Brother yet... I can't remember if it's in Dark Lover or not though... it had something to do with Havers and he had approached Z to kill the King (Wrath) (but Z didn't do it) and Wrath was way messed up for awhile. They didn't know if he was going to live or not. And all the Brothers and Butch were waiting in the hallway to hear how Wrath was doing. The scene with him and Beth wasn't at all explicit, though.

Then, there was another hospital scene between Butch and Marissa where V watched them gettin' it on on the surveillance camera. THAT might be the hot hospital scene you're thinking of.

Butch does go to the hospital to see about the Beth's attacker. That is towards the begining. But it is very brief not a big part at all.

I wasn't a fan of the whole slayer part I really skimmed them.
But then after book 4 you really need to read every word.

I agree Kelly - I didn't like the whole Lessening Society thing and usually skimmed through their pages. All I needed to know was that they were bad were going to get killed. LOL

But, as the story progresses, you do need to be a bit more aware of what the Lessers are up to.

No. Lover Unbound is MY favorite book on the series. V is my man!.... well, at least in my dreams. They're talking about Lover Awakened, also, among my top 3 for this series.

3. Who is your dangerous hero(es)? My top two are Zsadist from the BDB and Conrad from the IAD series. I'm also a fan of the heroes in Anne Stuart's "Ice" series.
4. Why do you like dangerous heroes? There is something about a dangerous, possessive man that I really love. I think it's the fantasy aspect of it. If my life were a romance novel, my husband would definitely be considered a beta hero. Some secret part of me fantasizes about what it would be like to be with a darker, more intense man. In reality, this type of super-dominant man would probably drive me crazy. I'm living vicariously through the heroines in these books. LOL.

3. There are so many. Most of the Dark Hunters, Barrons from the Fever series. I love the bad boy shifters and werewolve who are so alpha male by Briggs, Vincent and from the Men of the Otherworld series.
4. I guess the badder the are the more passion they have. The more you can hate or rise to anger the better they seem to love or appreciate the love they get.
