Why Must A Bride Be A Bridezilla?

I tend to believe it's a little of both. Playing to the camera and ones true nature coming out. The brides 'it's all about me and my special day' attitude should be a sign to the groom that he should run, run like the wind out the nearest exit.
I also wonder for all the years that a show like Bridezallia has been on the air, how many of these couples are still together.

I couldn't be in a bridezilla's wedding. They would be looking for the bride.

I agree with you. I used to love Bridezilla when it first came on. The brides weren't as bitchy, excuse my language as they have been the last few years. I don't watch the show anymore. Last season was enough. I believe it's just for show. I know these are real couples, that I believe but that other mess has to be fake. I mean, who would want to marry women this mean and throwing so many tantrums? And they talk to their families so bad and they don't show any respect for the folks working on the wedding. You know that if this was really happening, no one would want to be around these women, let alone marry them.
Bridezillas portray women as being bitchy and men as being whipped, LOL! I know that there are a lot of men who are whipped but I don't think most would put up with the stuff these woman do. If I was the groom I'd leave her before she got to the alter. All that belittling is just for the cameras. Especially those women who want to have this big fancy weddings, yet they know they don't have the money for it? Now how can that be real?
As for Platinum Weddings, never wanted to watch that. I think those brides are way too spoiled.
With Bridezillas, I got sick of it when that black lady was on there. I can't remember, the one who thought she was so great and got on that radio station and said she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Did you guys see that one? Please! She wasn't even pretty! It's one thing to have confidence but those women think they are all that and they don't look like nothing, LOL! They're so arrogant that it has to be an act.
Now that I think about those women on Bridezillas who aren't rich and want those high-priced weddings, wonder if the show pays for them! I never thought of that. The people always talk about their struggling then they end up with a huge wedding with horse cariages and live orchestras, LOL! Come on.
Best Wishes!

What you said makes sense. That's why the show is so different now I guess. Because WE just wants ratings and so they put on these pitiful, fake-acting brides, LOL! But my question is this, why would the grooms be on there looking like fools? I wouldn't let no one show me up on television, LOL! They look like whipped puppies!
Best Wishes!

On Bridezilla is seems as if something is always wrong with the groom, as if he has been dropped on his head at birth. The bride to be always finds fault in him.
There was an episode, where the groom stood up the bride and later they have left to go to vegas to elope.
In one episode, the bride locked her refrigerator so that her bridemaids couldn't get anything to eat. She wanted them to fit in their dress, but she couldn't even fit in her dress and they could.
These drama queen brides need to not be on camera.

I think there is some hamming up done, but I think some of those girls really are that bad. I know I'd do like Brenda said, and do a runner, if I were those guys.
For some bizarre reason, I love watching wedding shows. Yes, I think about my wedding, but not to the degree that I should considering I love watching wedding shows. It's very interesting seeing the even come together. I love "Rich Bride, Poor Bride," partially because of the way the couples argue like cats and dogs, and how the groom might be the diva at times. Good times! Bridezilla, I can only watch in intermittent sittings.
I love watching the wedding cake shows! It's all about the cake!

I like watching wedding shows as well Danielle. I use to love watching the wedding story. I have never seen any drama on there.
On Rich Bride, Poor Bride, the groom can walk in drama shoes as well. They've recently aired a show, where both the bride and groom were drama shoes. The guy looked at the camera a couple of times. That's how I know he was acting for the camera. The bride was outrages too. She wanted everything to be her way or no way.
I'm a firm believer that a groom has to have some say in the wedding planning as well. I don't care if people are coming to the wedding to see the bride march down the aisle. It's both of their day.
Another episode aired where the groom was a spoiled brat. He didn't even want the bride's father to give her away. He kept saying it was his day.
These shows can be stupid. I would love to see if all the drama people are still married.

Yes, some of the grooms are worse than the brides on Rich Bride, Poor Bride. I wonder if they'll stay married, too.
I watch Say Yes to the Dress too. Some of those brides are so spoiled. I agree that I wouldn't take all those people with me to try on the dress, either. Some of them are pretty mean about how the bride looks. I think you should be honest, but you shouldn't say stuff like, you look ugly and fat in that dress. That's just wrong.
I would never take a person that wants to belittle me to a bridal shop.
My dress is my choice only. Other's opinion will not matter.

If anything, take someone who is trusted and who will speak the truth in love. Not someone who will put you down and make you feel bad about yourself.
When it's time for me to go shopping for my dress. I'm taking my sister and my warped sense of humor.

I think so too.
I know on Bridezillas, several of the couples have split. Marsha & Archie were one of the most memorable ones that I know split up relatively quickly after the show aired.
I feel so bad for the men sometimes, but they wouldn't be there if they didn't want to be, you know? They know their brides better than we do, so they know what they are getting into before the wedding lol.

I'm taking my sister and my mother. Maybe the MIL can come along, but that's still a lot of people. Some of these girls come in with an entourage of 10 people to help them. For what? Every time it happens, you laugh because the bride either leaves without a dress or she doesn't leave with the dress.

LOL! That's funny!!!

That's another thing I don't like about those brides. I don't like how they talk about the weight of the people in their wedding party. That's not right. If you are going to talk about folks being big then don't let them be in your wedding! I think they let the big folks in there so they can belittle them. I'm a plus-sized chick myself and I find that disrespectful.
I remember that black woman who measured all of bridesmaids's waists and she had some BIG sistas in her party. But then she tried to kick them out if they didn't lose weight. And most of these brides who talk about these women don't be skinny either! I wouldn't put up with that from nobody. I don't care about being in nobody's wedding, LOL! I wouldn't let someone disrespect me and especially on camera.
Best Wishes!

Stacy-Deanne,
That was the same woman. She felt that she could eat, because she didn't need to watch what she ate. But, later on, she found out that she couldn't fit in her dress.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that when the "reality show bride" acts up, it's for the cameras. For ratings.
I have never been a bride, but I honestly don't think that every woman that has walked in a bride's shoes or getting ready to walk in a bride's shoes wore/will wear a bridezilla crown.
If a guy that's engaged watch Bridezilla, he might get scared, because he'll probably think that's how his fiancee will be, prior to their wedding.
Some of those women be belittling the men and even family members.
Don't get me wrong, I think some of the grooms and family members be acting for the cameras as well, especially the ones that's acting up and give the camera a look.
People have to sign up for these shows. To me the wedding is real, but the drama is for the camera.
