An interesting month for you!
I was just resigning myself to probably not finishing anything else this month, but still hold a little hope since I have one more day and The First Rule is drawing me in ever tighter... Under the Dome will not be finished this month, I'll have to work it towards a February book as I am only 28% in on the Kindle.

Book covers Churchill in Africa during the Boer War. He was a war correspondent, combatant, prisoner, fugitive and a hero on his return to England. Some other war correspondents in South Africa: Rudyard Kipling, Edgar Wallace, H.G. Wells and Arthur Conan Doyle. Churchill was 24 years old when this part of his life began and was a prisoner at the age of 25. At times he was courageous and other time foolhardy. Within three months of his return to England, at the age of 25, he became a member of Parliament.
On the lecture tour in England, he was considered a hero, in the U.S. not as much. Many in the U.S. favored the Boers. The author, I feel, glossed over many of his flaws. In her book, Winston could do no wrong, even as a war correspondent in his 20's telling seasoned military officers what they were doing wrong tactically in the battlefield.Good thing he wasn't a soldier, he surely would have been disciplined.
Under the Dome by Stephen King (fiction, Kindle)
A town in the State of Maine is place mysteriously under a Dome. Lots of action and tension. The ending took me by surprise. I did not like the ending or how the it was rushed.
