I really enjoyed the March series as well. I hope the next book comes out soon. The new Ringo book that just came out, Live Free or Die, starts yet another series. A friend of mine was joking that we should boycott his books until he finishes one of the five or six series he has going on right now.

I think if I were to boycott all of the books in unfinished series where the author is writing multiple series, I wouldn't be able to read any of my favorite authors.

I finished Arms-Commander (my review) yesterday evening and started reading Nyphron Rising this morning, which I might finish today thanks to another snow storm rolling through Kansas.

I liked the book a lot but did you think that the first third took a long time to get going? I keep putting off reading The Other Lands, but havve it out of the library once again

reread Web of Wizardry by Juanita Coulson (an oldie but goodie)

Grimspace by Ann Aguire (liked its pacing)

reread Ride a Rathorn by PC Hodgell (getting ready for next book due out early March

The Adamntine Palace by Stephen Deas (a really good fantasy)

No Mercy by Lori Armstrong (mystery)

Trust No One by Gregg Hurwitz (a decent thriller that I took out of library 4 times before reading in a day)

Now on to Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb

Not really.

currently reading the very different werewolf novel Benighted by Kit Whitfield.

Before that: Bone Crossed - P. Briggs fun, but not very different.
Escape- C. Jessop not sf/ f, memoir, but might as well be sf/f-- or horror/ terror even!
Ballad- M. Stiefvater YA faerie, very good.
Frostbitten- K. Armstrong very good ~#12 in her Women/ Men of the Otherworld series. Liked the setting of this one a lot.
Push- Sapphire hard to read, but short, not sf/f.
The Wish House- C. Reese eh. YA.
East- E. Pattou- Beautiful! retelling of fairy tales.
Mean Streets Got it for Butcher & Sniegoski novellas, but also loved the Kat Richardson novella.
Book of a Thousand Days- S. Hale very good fairy tale retelling.
Dancing on the Head of a Pin- T. Sniegoski Love the main character, and his intentional similarity to Chandler, but it's still "guy's" uf.

Tales of the Dying Earth by Jack Vance

All of them were good to great. Dying Earth was technically proficient, but I had trouble identifying with Cugel. The Kelly Link short stories were a little too weird sometimes.

Ive read so far Shadow & Claw, Sword & Citadel, and The Urth of the New Sun.

Very complex reading, i sometimes forced myself to go on cause, but at the end it was oh so worth it.

I finished A Song for Arbonne and just started Rosemary and Rue. I also read Oryx and Crake. I wasn't crazy about it.

Re Kit Whitfield-- I just picked up her alternate universe fantasy, In Great Waters. I expect to be reading it in March.

Just finished When True Nights Falls by Celia S. Friedman Coldfire Trilogy, Book2 and started Crown of Shadows Coldfire Trilogy, Book3(and the last in the trilogy).

I would say I expected a bit more from the series considering how much price it receives on the Internet. Though it is not bad. 6-7 out of 10.
Damien annoys me with his religious fervency and preaching and prayers. I would not miss him if he were to go. If not for him, I would rate the series 8 out of 10.

On the other hand, I do like Tarrant.

Jenseny's sacrifice probably is the most powerful moment and it was sad to loose Hesseth :(

The Epilogue is also very intriguing and gripping and I am looking forward to read the last book.

I really enjoyed it! I am still asking myself questions about why x character did y, etc. It would be a great pick for a discussion, imo.
