Do we allow warnings in the description? Along the lines of a parental advisory warning almost?

This just looks really out of place to me....

I agree, that looks very odd, and the cover should warn readers enough that it's a mature book...
I haven't been a librarian for that long, so I'm not sure, but I don't think that should be on there...I thought only the summary of the book was supposed to be on it...

I've often seen these "warnings" on erotica books: they are actually part of the publisher-provided description and, for people who are looking for erotica, are part of the teaser that draws people in.

And, in fact, if you look at the change log on this edition you can see that this is text that the author herself has provided!

Author's text or not - grandmothers needed an apostrophe.

lol Melody! I did see that Cait - I just know that a lot of the time authors themselves change things and make them not as we do things. This is why I was wondering - it didn't sound like it was phrased as from a publisher or professional to me. Just as if the author wanted the warning up there. I think it looks poor but if it's okay then it stays! Thanks guys!

It looks like someone gave it a bad review because they didn't like the language. Maybe the author was trying to keep that from happening again. That's my thought any way.

Samhain (publisher) does this, but they are usually funny and show up at the end of the blurb. Thought this might be the same case, but it doesn't look like it. I'd leave it though.

Yes, I'm leaving it because of the others suggestions of course but I don't think this is from the publisher either. I think the author just decided she wanted it there one day and added it. But, either way, if it's fine with GR it's fine with me! :)

Melody, I didn't see that about the review. I don't at all agree that, if that is the case, that an author should be allowed to put a "warning" in response to a review - that could lead to all sorts of crazy things but like I said above, if it's okay with GR it stays! Thanks Melody!
