The Merchant of Death discussion

This book is the first in the Pendragon series. It is a good book, but it is not quite as interesting as the next two(The Lost City of Faar; The Never War). Once you know the basic background of these books, they are impossible to put down.

I couldn't get into the second book. How far do I have to read until it gets interesting?
