This is the spoiler thread for the spotlighted discussion on The First World War by Keegan.

Why a spoiler thread? Some folks would like an element of surprise when they are reading and do not want to be told what is in the next chapter or what lies ahead.

Our spotlighted book discussions all have non spoiler threads. So all posts have to be on point with the thread itself and must tie in to the assigned reading for that thread.

However, sometimes discussions can become expansive and go beyond the assigned reading; so I have opened up a thread where anything about the First World War may be discussed.

Expansive off topic and/or expansive discussions will be moved here. If I say that the conversation should be moved to the spoiler thread then you will know where it is to be taken. I may even move spoiler posts here automatically.

We want you to continue your interesting conversation but we want everyone to be mindful that the weekly non spoiler threads are just that - non spoiler so here is the place to post if your comments go beyond the reading. Here they will not miss a beat.

Folks who are new to spotlighted reads and do not want to have the story unfold would be well advised to avoid this thread until you have completed your reading. You should stick to the non spoiler weekly threads.
