Me too! It gets so bad I forget to feed my children! (not even joking!) :)

I'm a huge fairytale fan but I admit to not having read most of the originals (though I have them on my Kindle). I do, however, have a whole stack of retellings and original fairytales in my library. Levine, Hale, McKinley... pretty standard stuff, I suppose. Oh, and Michael Buckley. *grins*
...I've also never belonged to a group. So I have no idea what to do. So bear with me. =D

Alrighty, that's perfectly fine with me. I forget if it's set on private or not, so if you can't get in just tell me. =]

I love all genres but I have a soft spot for myths and fairytale's so I can't wait to check out the shelves once I decrease the size of TBR list. Can't wait to read next months group read books :D

I recently started a blog about paranormal, dystopian, fantasy and fairytale books for teens (and it includes tips for aspiring writers). I'm looking for people with similar interests to be friends with and share book recommendations. I'm especially interesting in meeting aspiring writers.

My name is Lisa. I just joined yesterday as well. I work part-time, but am a full-time mommy. My first granddaughter was born on the 21st so we are enjoying the early Christmas present! =) I am just the same as Katie, addicted to Once Upon a Time on ABC. I have always loved Mythology and am really looking forward to reading some great books!

I'm very active in 2 other groups, and moderate one of them, so I may not be commenting tons, but I'll do my best.
My favorite authors in this genre are Robin McKinley, Juliet Marillier, Patricia A. McKillip, Gail Carson Levine, Garth Nix, Tamora Pierce, and Tanith Lee to name a "few", haha!

I haven't read the Protector of the Small nor the Circle of Magic series yet either.

P.S. Thx for creating such group ^^

Other than fairy tales, I love reading fantasy, science fiction and historical novels. I've got 3 daughters, 1 husband, 1 dog, 1 house. I'm happy with my life -- and I guess that's something I'm grateful for.
I love to meet new people, online and offline.

The very best fairy tale films I've ever watched are from your country. Some of my favorites are "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella", "Frankenstein's Aunt", "The Evening Star", "The Fairy Tale Bride"... The list could go on and on.

Awesome! I am doing dystopian books for a school project. Could you possibly put up the link? I love fantasy, with my favorite fairytale being 'The legend of the wandering king' by Laura Gallego Garcia

I'm not new to Goodreads (I've been adding books to my read shelf since about 2008), but I'm definitely new to Group Discussions. I didn't even know such things existed until I went looking for information and ended up adding myself to several groups. Not sure I'll stay with all of them, but I'm definitely going to stay with this one.
My first "real" discussion post was here, to ask about B&B. The answers were so helpful, I'll probably be back in a few months to "mine" for more information from you knowledgeable folks about Sleeping Beauty.
I love that there's actually a whole reading group about fairytales! Incredible. Always great to find like-minded people who enjoyed the same tales I did/do.
I love this time I'm living in. :)

Hi! I've been on goodreads a few years, but I just met Chris in another group. I love fairy tales, original and re-told. I love the books the group is discussing -- so I'm happy to have stumbled upon this group via Chris!

The thing I love most about them is the many adaptions and twists that can be made out of each and every tale. I think my favorite fairy tale character is probably Rumpelstiltskin.
My favorite fairy tale novels are
A Curse Dark As Gold, The Goose Girl,Hood and Ella Enchanted among others, but I am always looking for new and interesting twists to read.
Other than that I enjoy reading just about anything fantasy and a bit of historical fiction.
Anyways, this group looks really interesting and I hope to check it out some more :)

My name's Caitriona (pronounced Katrina - it's an Irish spelling) and I'm a half-English, half-Irish girl in Southampton, England. Joined the group because I love fairytales, especially 'Beauty and the Beast' (as the picture may well demonstrate!).
So, er...hi!

Welcome Lauren!
I am reading Princess of the Midnight Balland loving it! I can't wait to read more of her books!

Currently working my way through The Complete Fairy Tales at the very slow pace of one a night - most I'm familiar with through other collections but it's definitely interesting to go back to a translation of the 'originals'.

Hey everyone! I'm new both to the group and to goodreads, but I love everything fairy tale. I just finished my thesis for my masters and guess what it's about? Fairy tales!:) I'm also a fiction writer and am working on a fairy tale novel. I'm looking forward to reading and participating in discussions.

I just joined the other day because I've been on a bit of a fairy-tale/folklore kick of late and wanted to find more books and likeminded folk. :)
About me... I'm a physics major in Las Vegas and read a lot of science, sci-fi, fantasy and classics. I have a degree in history, as well, so I read a lot of ancient history (fiction and non).
Feel free to add me as a friend and I'll add you back. :)

I did not find this group; my lovely wife, Anne, did. She was looking for a friendly place to mention the book I had recently e-published and she found goodreads - and then this forum.
The major downside of indie writing (for me, anyway) is having to do your own marketing. I would rather my books not sell any copies at all than do this! (My wife is somewhat more pragmatic.) I'm reclusive by nature - a typical writer, eh? I live in Germany and can barely speak the language: it's ideal!
I confess that I am a terrible reader and that I probably write more than I read! That said, when I do find a book I like, I find it difficult to put it down until I'm done. I once spent 24 hours reading a book without a break - but that's another story and will be told another time.[/Ende]

This is Anne, Philip's wife.
It seems like my husband thinks that I am more of a promoter than I really am... (which is kind of flattering).
My story with goodreads is that I used to have a profile years ago, but then forgot my password or the email address I had used, or probably both... So I had to set up a new account when I wanted to keep track of our newest-little-family-member's books. That's how I found this group. When looking through it I saw 'book suggestions' and thought, "Hey, my husband has written a lovely book - why not suggest it?" (I know now that it was the wrong section - sorry again!)
My story with fairy tales is much longer... But to put it in a nutshell: I loved them when I was little. Snow White was my favorite. So upsetting to be rather blonde when your favorite fairy tale character has dark hair! At least I got to dress up as the "other" Snow White (Rose Red's sister) for carnival once.
Many many years later then I chose the works of Hans Christian Andersen as the subject for part of my graduation exams at University. I also brought his autobiography as travel literature when I went to Copenhagen :)
Anyway, enough about me now. My little family is keeping me busy, but I'm looking forward to reading what all you others wrote/write here!

Oh lord yes, all the time. My husband sometimes has to repeat himself two or three times to get my attention when I'm deep in a book. Happened just yesterday with Those Across the River :)
