The Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare
The Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

Yap I really love her books so I'm sure I'll love this new series too.

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) I love Cassandra Clare! I think her books are hilarious and creative. I've read several books about the Nephilim, but I love hers the best! I hope the female lead in these books isn't like Clary though, I thought she was a wimp! I loved Isabelle and don't even get me started on Jace (grr).

Rachel (The Rest Is Still Unwritten) (rachybee) I really like the series. Not quite us much as TMI, but i still love it. Will is yummy!!!!

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) Will is definitely yummy, and lickable! But, I agree, I didn't like it as much as TMI.

Kristin I really enjoyed this book. Of course I enjoy historical fiction, so that probably played into it a bit.

Oooh, yes! There's still more two books to come though so it may get better. However when i compare it to how City of Bones was, it's not exactly on par. It's still brilliant though. I love Cassandra Clare! She's a genius.

Tabitha (luv2readtabbycat) I just read Clockwork prince and it is defiantly good on the romance side but I think it needed a bit more action. I didn't much like the cliff hanger ending.

I still haven't had a chance to start this series, I'm really hoping to soon though. I loved the first three books in the first series, and I'm sure this one is just as good.

h.e.yoseph (heyoseph) I thought this book was phenomenal ! I absolutely loved it, and I'm dying to know what's going to happen next; due to the cliff hanger at the end. I personally think this series is better than the mortal instruments ;D
