YESHHHHHHHHH!!! YESH YESH!! OF COURSE!! I CONCUR!!

Vampires are NOT- sparkly, vegetarians, with hairy chests*edward cullen* , fluffy cuddly little things....... this is my opinions anyway ;)

I totally agree, Twilight got me back to reading, and I have read alot of vamp books and they are all different. Personally I love Edward, but I think I love Bones (Night Huntress) more. I still Love Twilght...

i think young people need to realize twilight isn't the best vamp series anne rices are

SPADE - FIRST DROP OF CRIMSON / NIGHT HUNTRESS
ERIC NORTHMAN - SOOKIE STACKHOUSE
EDWARD CULLEN - YOU KNOW !!!! LOL
LESTAT - ANNE RICE
DIMITRI- VAMP ACADEMY
ADRIAN - VAMP ACADEMY
STEFEN - VAMPIRE DIARIES
WRATH, RAGE, V, REHV, Z - BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOOD
STARK - HOUSE OF THE NIGHT
QUINN - RILEY JENSON
ANGEL AND SPIKE - BUFFY
there are more *blushing*

yes, and who says they don't need blood? or that they don'T have awesome abilities, like strength, or speed? yeah, it's not just twilight, but the whole genera of new vamps that are basically just normal people who live a ton longer. done. there. that's your modern vamp.

Sorry about my rant here =]
hmmm...I loved it at first, because there was Jacob, now it's just like, 'meh, it's just another vamp book, thopuhg an extreemly over blown one at that."

I like it when the sun burns them to death or turns them into stone. Then they have a weakness. But what I love more, is when the vamps can feed from people.
If in twilight the vamps could bite people without turning them, then I think it would have been better.

well have u read the morganville vampires? the vampires live in the town and the people in town know but they dont really get along

oh, no, it didn't. ^.^ was just saying that just because I'm a teen I still like diff. stuff. ^.^ I don't really get offedned that easily, so don't worry. ^.^ and yeah, gotta aggree with the imprinting-on-young-kids part. That was really one of the only reasons why I started to loose interest...as well as Bella getting pregnant. That just didn't seem right. Vampires can be half breed, but not through humans.

aww i missed a brilliant topic...I don't think she has spoilt the image of vampires, I think the media does that on their own...if anything she's started a frickin trend with these vamps. Though I'm a fan (kind of) I agree that it is poorly written, but I don't see how it's fair to say that her ideas of a vampire is wrong or whatever just because a vampire isn't suppose to glitter lolz...the whole point of fiction is making it up (with your own ideas)
Sorry but if its about vampires in general well they have my vote instantly lmfao...The way I see it? Authors like stephanie meyer open up the world for possibilities. We can't say a certain vampire is 'suppose' to be this or that, because we don't have all the facts, we just have suspicions and tales to live by, in order to make a good story though is judged on your creativity streak, authors like anne rice, bram stoker and even stephanie meyer are able to play up the ideas people have for what a vampire 'could' be like. Personally I don't judge from how authors perceive the vampire race, If it has a different edge to it, i'll give it a try.

Wal-Mart too. Wal-Mart is really the only reason why Iloose faith in boks after a while. sure they'Re cheaper there, but I don'T see whay they have to be over pruduced bunches of .....'scuse my french, crap.

I have to agree with you! S. Meyer did not ruined the look of vampire b/c of her ideas (even though the whole Glitter thing had me reading that section of the book a couple times to make sure I read it right lol) but it was the media and whoever is in control of the publicity of Twilight. They have pushed ppl to hate Twilight b/c it’s just too much. It's like hearing a song on your favorite radio station 10 times in less than an hour…. Eventually you're going to change the station. Also I love how an author tries different ways to catch ppl's attention; I mean that's what fiction is all about. Look at Blue Bloods series by Mellissa De La Cruz, now that is different and I applaud her for such creativity. I think Meyer did a good job in creating a world that produced such a huge fan base but she will never surpass someone like Anne Rice or Bram Stroker. At least in my opinion Anne Rice's world is more believable
Oh yeah! Anne Rice is a genius, I like the classic dark undertone that she created with her vampires, and yeah they're what we would 'expect' a vampire to be like, so yeah I agree on that note, just love the fact that authors are able to give a new twist to the 'race'...coz after a while, they'll end up being boring, and soon everyone would be like meh 'vampires' are old news lolz...
