If we have 329 members, why is it that only a few of us ever post?

post on what?

On the group. On anything. There's...eh, maybe 20ish people who constantly post anything...comments, discussions, etc.

maybe they just dont have nofin 2 say... but then wats the point? *tuh* in disappointment

I just don't understand why people would join, but not post anything...

I don't know. Maybe I'm over-analyzing. It's just something I've been pondering...

I was wondering about this, too. Why are the mods so eager to get more members when most of them don't comment.

Exactly. Perhaps a mod could answer that?

AND more members mean possibly more comments, and also more attention when THE RECENT ACTIVITY section.

Here is my opinion on group numbers:

I completely understand that a bigger group means more activity amongst members, because there certainly WILL be people who join to actually post, just as there will be people who join just to join and never do anything in the group. However, I like the idea of a smaller group so that everyone is familiar with everyone else. It goes both ways for me.

However, I just don't see the point in joining a group unless you plan on posting there. I have joined groups that I had every intention of posting in, but if I didn't end up doing so, I left the group. I didn't see the point.

I try to post! Sometimes I just don't have time.

But I also leave i its in active.
But its good to have a large number of members, to grab attention.
It also makes us Mods feel good :P

I can imagine.... It's like, how I felt when I realized that 1000 people had taken one of the quizzes I made. Nice to know that people are interested, right?

And occasionally, when lots more people are added, we get some who comment regularly!
They see the amount of members, think it must be a good group, join, and then even comment :D

Which is awesome.... It still doesn't make sense to me to join a group you won't post in.

I think everyone does that at least once or twice.

I enjoy the games, and enjoy posting there. The contests are cool, and everything, so I post there too.

Some book discussions just doesn't really qualify me, so I don't post. Music and movies aren't really good places, since I don't really follow up the latest movies/music.

anyway, I totally agree! all members should participate and post too to make this group a lot merrier and more fun!!

Lurkers. Some people just read the discussion instead of participate in it.

Also they may just forget they've joined. That can happen.
