Marja McGraw (marja1) | 114 comments I think a storyline either has to start out with a romantic involvement, or work up to it slowly. Not in all cases, but in most.

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 407 comments As we're going down memory lane - the romance kind of killed Moonlighting - I used to love that show, but once David and Maddie broke up it was all downhill.

I love Castle!!! I think the show is just great. I love all the characters! My favorite part is when there is a poker game and authors are there such as Michael Connelly, Dennis LeHane, James Patterson and so on. I loved the episode where the poker buddies paid tribute to Stephen Cannell!

Nathan Fillion is just so cool! I used to watch him on Firefly. I read both books and they are fluffy but fun! Can't wait for next season to start!

Castle has actually turned into one of my favorite shows. The interaction between the characters is so much fun. They manage to go from light to dark in just a few scenes. I was talking to a cop this weekend who said that fact that he watches Castle is one of his "dirty little secrets". Pretty funny to listen to him talk about it.

Heat Wave and Naked Heat are the novels that Castle is supposedly writing in the show. Well, they are published novels under the name of Richard Castle. The book covers show Nathan Fillion has Richard Castle. It's quite fun. I have no idea who really writes the books, I had thought at one time it was Stephen Cannell, but I don't know. The books are light and fluffy, but I like the tie in to the show.

Erica Thanks for the info!

Aha! Dennis Lehane! I recognised James Patterson and Stephen Cannell. And I guessed who Michael Connelly was when they salled him Mickey. But they called Dennis Lehane by name and I couldn't figure who he was.
Can anyone tell me who the female poker player is?

Cindi (cindij) | 5 comments I love the Castle TV Series. Has anyone noticed how much the actor that plays Castle (Nathan Fillon) actually looks like the real life writer Richard Castle. It is uncanny.

message 61: by Marja (new)

Marja McGraw (marja1) | 114 comments Cindi, There isn't a real life Richard Castle. It was a marketing thing they did to keep things moving along. I don't know who actually wrote the books, but they used Nathan Fillion (as Richard Castle) for the author photo. I thought it was a pretty cool promotional idea and bought both books. Wish I could come with an idea like that for my books.

Cindi (cindij) | 5 comments I go to Fantastic Fiction's web site when looking up authors to get lists of their books. http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/c/r...
on their site it show's Richard Castle as the author of these books with a picture of who is supposedly this person. Looks like he is a real person on there.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 556 comments According to GR, Richard Castle is indeed a pen name: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... .

"Note: Richard Castle is a fictional character from the ABC television show, Castle, played by Nathan Fillion. The biography below is of this character. His name is being used as a pseudonym for tie-in novels to the TV show. The actual author of the novels is currently unknown."

The pic on that site is of the gorgeous Nathan Fillion - the actor who plays Rick Castle.

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 407 comments It is extremely clever marketing.

Merrill Heath | 61 comments I started reading Heat Wave and kept getting confused. In my mind I wanted the characters to be Castle and Beckette and it didn't work for me. I would enjoy a book about the characters on the TV show, but this just seemed off somehow.

Susan from MD | 58 comments I just read Heat Wave and thought it was fun - a quick read. I had just finished The First Circle, which was a rather intense book and long read, so I wanted a fast fun book and I picked up a couple of the Nikki Heat books that were an Amazon.com Kindle daily deal. I did sort of "hear" Castle and Beckett, but didn't mind it.

I gave it 3/5 stars - I liked it but it wasn't exactly great literature!

Lance Charnes (lcharnes) | 421 comments I want to know when Castle finds time to write when he's always gadding about with Beckett. Unless he's like Patterson...

message 70: by Debra (new)

Debra Borys | 1 comments Lance, I was thinking that, too. There have been a few episodes that mention him writing or trying t o meet a deadline, but not many. then again, we're not exactly watching the show because of it's realism. I get a little annoyed at how many episodes have them bringing in suspect after suspect accusing them of being the murderer instead of getting all the clues first. But I still enjoy watching because it's fun and, hey, Nathan Fillion, people!

Lorraine (saanichlori) Rear Window episode from April 1 was great. Rick's stuck at home with a broken leg and can't resist spying on his neighbours with his binoculars. Of course, he thinks he's witnessed a murder but no-one will pay him any attention. Best episode I've seen in a while.

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

I enjoyed the Episode as well although my favorite was when he met his father.
