SciFi and Fantasy Book Club discussion

Finished reading this today, and enjoyed it.

I found the Wit vs. Skill distinction interesting. It made me wonder if the words "wit" and "witch" are related, but I checked the OED, and they aren't... Too bad.

The whole "man ceremony" bit at the beginning of chapter 17 seemed really odd to me the way it broke up the narrative chronology. I wondered if there was some glitch with my ebook and I was seeing chapter 17 from the next book, it was so jarring. Still not clear to me why older Fitz chooses to drop that recollection in there--maybe it makes more sense if you read the whole series?

I'm not planning to read more of the series right away, but would sometime in the future if I'm in the mood for this kind of fantasy.
