Hello! My name is Lidia, I'm from Toronto, live there with my husband and two cats. I've been writing since I was able to hold a pen and I'm currently re-writing the vampire novel I wrote in highschool. I'm adding new elements to it where my main characters has a heavenly background that she's not aware of and a male vampire is asking for her help to lift his curse. I assume it's going to take at least a few years. Glad to meet everyone!

Hi Tanya, you know being hit with corn is not such a bad thing especially if you're hungry, mind you I think you'd get a better response if you tried hitting people with chocolate! How's the writing going? I write French fiction for learning as well as paranormal novels, I've just started another French book which is part of a series and somehow forgot to save it. Yikes!!!

Yvonne, I never hit *anyone* with chocolate. Especially not good chocolate. The chocolate is mine. ALL MINE!!!

I just finished my first book, Root Bound, and I'm working on the marketing part now. Hoping to have Book 2 ready by Christmas.

Do you teach French, then?

Welcome, I have read all the books you have listed. 50 Shades was a GREAT series in my opinion. Not a big hit here or so it appears. But I did enjoy the read.

Well I did not know what kind of book it was before I started. Friends said it was good I am now on the second one in the series. Very steamy. Sharing with people I work with, several of us bought a copy of each of the books and now they are making the rounds.
I love sharing books

Hi, I'm Tima Maria, I love to read paranormal romance - vampires, werewolves, faeries... can't get enough of Maggie Shayne. Her Wings in the Night series is fantastic! Also, love Charlaine Harris, Tanya Huff, Gena Showlater... I could go on.
I'm an author to. My debut novel comes out at the end of August. I thought it was about time we Aussies had our own vampire dynasty. So, I wrote one!

What's the title? Is there a sample download? I'm a big Aussie fan. Used to read A lot of Arthur Upfield. Looking to see what Australia can give us in the paranormal genre.

HiTimothy,

My book is called, 'Bloodgifted, Book 1 of the Dantonville Legacy.' It's coming out as an Ebook and Print-on-Demand from Amazon at the end of August. There's one trailer on Youtube at the moment. A second one will be available on there by tomorrow.
Have a look and tell me what you think. Be kind!

Thanks Justin. Go ahead and put an extract of your book on here. Since you're an author, you should be able to have an author page where you can post an excerpt. That's what I did. I posted the prologue first two chapters of my book, 'Bloodgifted' as a teaser.

message 942: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Earle | 3 comments Hi guys!

Now I love the horror/dark fantasy genre- because if you're going to escape reality, how far can you go but that?

But what I love most of all, is WRITING the genre.

I suffer from a condition called Old Hag's Syndrome- Sleep Paralysis-
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/art...

I used this to write my novel TARTARUS. You can buy it now online at Waterstones, Amazon and even on kindle format now.

Here's is the blurb;
Hate is a strong word. But you’ve never met Diane Stillman.
After Britain’s war in 1996 between the Humans and the “Freaks”, a damaged Diane Stillman is left with the rubble of what was her life. Living above a putrid world where she knows her sister’s killer hides, her existence revolves around retribution. Tartarus- the Underground City of the Vampires- the freaks- a place with their own rules and regulations.
With Government becoming deaf and dumb to her pleas for help, and constant Night Terrors of a figure she calls, “The Man”, Diane moves to the decaying world below to track her sister’s executioner herself.
But eyes follow her in choking black ink of Tartarus and something is determined to find her first. Unknowingly hunted for being last of the mysterious Stillman bloodline, and finding herself auctioned off as a blood-whore to a possessive Vampire Lord, Diane finds herself starting to evolve into the very thing she’s afraid of.
A monster…

If you want to find out more info about me, you can find me on-
WWW.EEARLE.COM
Or join me on my tweets at WWW.TWITTER.COM/E_EARLE
Or even try WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/EARLETARTARUS

I absolutely love goodreads as it's so good connecting writers and readers and giving each other support.

I would love to connect with you guys here and share my experience with you guys as well as hearing some of your tips as well :)

Much love!

Welcome to the group.
Areas of interest:
We have an area called authors unite. Specially for all promotional purposes. But we ask you to leave all promotion there.

Book of the Month(aka BOM) discussions are held monthly, this month we are reading discovery of witches. You have missed out on nominating however you can vote on the poll which will be set up soon.

We have a bi monthly writing competition, so at the end of august you will see the new topic set up

Don't worry if you can't find things, I send out newsletters with links.
And don't be afraid to join in any conversation....we don't bite!

Charles promotion is to be kept strictly in the members work folder. I let your previous comment slide but I cannot allow this comment to slide as well.
Please keep all your promotion to the appropriate areas.

message 948: by Charles (new)

Charles Keith Hardman (ckhardman) Sorry!

message 949: by Charles (new)

Charles Keith Hardman (ckhardman) I am not very good at Goodreads. I fumble and make mistakes. My books are not where I want them to be. I guess I just don't get it. Help me or tell me what to do?
I just want to fit in.

message 950: by Adele, Moderator (new)

No problems.
Have you promoted in our members work folder? Start up a new topic and that is yours. Talk about your book as much as you want in that topic. However there is one other place you can promote your work. And that is in the Authors unite topic in that same folder. Leave a comment there promoting your work.
Are you hosting a giveaway on goodreads or a blog? We have a giveaways and competitions area in the group you can utilize.
I can't allow any other promotion except for that I'm sorry. Good luck!
