Tina Folsom | 1 comments Hi,
I'm Tina Folsom and I write paranormal romances. I currently have a vampire series out: Scanguards Vampires. Two books are already available and I'm feverishly writing #3.

I love reading great vampire romances from authors such as Lara Adrian, Kathryn Smith, Kresley Cole, Kerrelyn Sparks etc.

Best,
Tina

P.Q. Glisson | 8 comments Hey guys! Adele invited me to the group. I truly feel honored.
Let me know if I'm overstepping, but I thought I'd mention my debut novel, Her Sanctuary. Though it's not a vampire or werewolf novel it is a romance/mystery with a bit of Native American folklore legend. This will be the only time I mention it on this group, but I felt that as an indie-publisher I would be remiss if I didn't plug my book. I mean, what kind of writer would that make me? It would look like I wasn't proud (which I very much am) of my creation.
Anyway, I hope to make many friends from this group and discover new and exciting paranormal romance books.
Thanks again Adele! :) Her Sanctuary by P.Q. Glisson

message 127: by Martin (new)

Martin Treanor Hey all - my name is Martin Treanor. I'm an Irishman, living in London with his missus, and I write speculative and supernatural fiction, with a release - working title: 'The Silver Mist' - in spring next year.

My favourite fantasy guy - although there are many more - must be Terry Practhett for the fun he has with his books. And my favourite vampire book is 'Salem's Lot' - for sheer, traditional scariness.

Many thanks Nicola for the invite.

Martin :)

message 128: by Riley (new)

Riley Steel (rileysteel) | 225 comments no probs martain and welcome. i could only ever read one terry pratchet novel and that was mort. i would probably appriate them more now. i think his sense of humour is way over my head lol but mort was fabulous i really enjoyed it.

P.Q. Glisson | 8 comments Hey Martin and Elizabeth!
So Martin, your favorite vampire novel is Salem's Lot? I absolutely LOVED it! I was an avid King fan for many many years. Well, that's not entirely true. I still am an avid King fan. LOL
I haven't read any of his books lately. I wanted to expand my horizons so I found some other really good horror masters such as Bradberry, Craven, Koontz and McCammon. If you're not familiar with Robert R. McCammon, may I suggest you read "Mine". It will scare the Beejesus out of you. Once you read it you'll want to read every one of his novels. He's amazing!!!

With the exception of a few recent ones, I think I've read all of King's novels and short stories. The Tower series was excellent, and 'Bag of Bones' his best, in my opinion. His non-horrors are fantastic. But, in keeping with the ethos of the group, it was 'Salem's Lot' that brought vampires into the age, whilst still keeping true to tradition and, most of all, the knee-wobbling scariness.

Many thanks Adele - I will indeed. It's such a pleasure to be here. I could talk about books and writers until I fell into a coma.

And, Elizabeth, all the best with the course - and, most of all, enjoy. University is the blast.

Martin :)

ooooh enviromental science, sounds complicated. i don't know what exactly that is but i'm assuming it has something to do with the science of nature (duh! sorry i'm such a crunchie at times!).
anyway i hope you go well with the course.

message 141: by Tate (new)

Tate Jackson (tatejackson) | 4 comments So, here’s the thing. I spent so much time promoting The Undead Heart by Tate Jackson (me) after it was published that I kinda lost my train of thought. I had all kinds of awesome ideas for the next installment of The Blood Thirst Series but I didn’t take care of them like I should have and they all died {really, in my yard is a row of my ideas, all with plant tags on them to serve as their headstones. I had had hopes that they would grow back after my dog started watering them everyday but no such luck}. Now I need your help!
If you would like a chance to read your idea in my next novel then this blog is for you! You will have to read The Undead Heart to submit your ideas but unfortunately I can’t just give copies away {Amazon doesn’t like it and I can understand that. They’re running a business and they don’t make money by just giving books away}. But I came up with a compromise.
You can go to amazon.com and get a copy of the Kindle version of The Undead Heart for $6.99 {a lot cheaper than the hard copy version at $18.99} and you don’t even have to have a kindle handheld device to get it! Amazon offers a Kindle PC eBook reader download for free on their site! They also offer a free download for Macs and free Kindle eBook reader apps for mobile phones! I promise that this is not a ploy to sell books {mostly because at $6.99 I’m only making $.09 per copy sold. YIPPEE!}.
I honestly need your help. I want you to read the book and send me your ideas for the second book in the series, Blood Thirst {little ideas, big ideas, ANY IDEAS AT ALL!!} You can send plot ideas or just things you’d like to see your favorite characters say or do. I need your ideas as quickly as possible because I’ve promised Blood Thirst would be out by March 2011 (that’s only 5 months away, folks}. Send your ideas to [email protected]. If I pick your idea I will (a.) give you full credit in the book for pulling my ass out of the fire, (b.) Stay in constant contact with you throughout the writing of Blood Thirst {just in case you have anymore great ideas I can pick from your brain}. (c.) Write you in as a character in Blood Thirst or the 3rd and last book in the series {I’ll leave that choice up to you). I’ll also send you a free hard copy of Blood Thirst when it’s released in March.
{The Undead Heart is not an erotica novel but does contain sex, adult language and adult humor. Parental discretion is advised}
