Who has the book yet?

It's common for a lot of stand-ups to "borrow" material from other comics - hell, Denis Leary cut his teeth by ripping off Bill Hicks joke-for-joke. At least Leary owned up to this.

What infuriates me about Carlos Mencia is not only does he blatantly steal material from other comics, he doesn't even have the decency to acknowledge this fact.

Hey everyone, there was a fun editorial in the NYT today re: 1001 books.

I must agree with them that there are way too many books left out and too many authors that have many multiples of books listed under their names.

I am not a fan either.

I haven't figured out whether he takes himself and his "comedy" seriously or if he is a calculating cynic just in it for the money.

Gus (sorry, just can't call you Uncle), Bill Hicks was funny! If you are going to borrow material, at least borrow it from someone funny.

gah!!! i put it on hold at the library, AND IT ERASED MY HOLD!!! something about it being too new... i'll just sweet-talk my librarian into putting a hold on it for me... she's done it before!

I hate Drew Carey and Dennis Miller. Not for ideological reasons, but because they giggle at their own damn jokes.

The worst at giggling at their own jokes is Jimmy Fallon. And they're giving this waterhead his own talkshow.

Letterman giggles at himself all the time. Does that mean you hate him? *gasp*

He doesn't do it after every joke, and I guess I'm too busy laughing at his jokes to notice when he does do it.

I hate Jay Leno, he doesn't giggle, he snickers at his own jokes. Man I want to poke him in the eye with the prong of a two-month dead octopus.

Ugh Leno is a douche! He can't interview people to save his life.

He says he's going to go to a new network after Conan takes over his spot, and kick everyone's ass because he's #1. And he is! Why is that? He's not funny, he's listening to his own voice when he's interviewing, he's terrible!

HAHA I just visualized that octopus Sally! I'm stealing that line.

I hate Carson Daly. He's an uninteresting, unentertaining tool. How does he keep getting his own show?

I do not, however, hate Jim Gaffigan. He is fricking hilarious.

Giggling at your own jokes is fine. Jimmy Fallon's problem is that he doesn't even finish the joke before he's giggling like a 3rd grader who just learned what "boobies" means.

On a more personal note, I just score tix to see Lewis Black this August...sonofabitch!

oh. well, i get big trips from parents, so, sadly, no allowance. *grins* if i did get allowance, i wouldnt get my trips, cuz i wouldnt make that much! im just glad my parents dont realize that... :D
