No, this one is more like a spy book. He was in the military and retired.

I'm a bit behind you, but also thoroughly enjoying it - I can see why he had such a hit with this character!

message 9612: by Tria (new)

Tria (trialia) Just finished If I Stay by Gayle Forman. One of very few YA novels that's ever made me cry like a waterspout. I highly recommend it (if you can deal with a few scattered medical/physical details from the aftermath of a car accident fatal to at least 2 of the 4 passengers...).

message 9620: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I've finished Falling - Cecilia Gray. I loved the characters that are like gods. How 1 person fell in love with an immortal (that she never knew), finding out her sister is a witch. Loved the Paranormal Romance style of it as well. I am listening to Great Expectations - Charles Dickens (my audio for the month) and reading Men at Work: Quick Read - Mike Gayle (A Quick Read) that hubby didn't fancy reading.

Finished Cocaine Blues Cocaine Blues (Phryne Fisher, #1) by Kerry Greenwood while on a recent business trip. Very enjoyable. I've heard there is a BBC or the Australian equivalent production based on this series. Hope it becomes available in the US sometime soon. I would love to see it.

Lance Charnes (lcharnes) | 421 comments Just finished The Moscow Club by Joseph Finder. Given Finder's pedigree, I thought I was going to get a reality-based espionage novel; instead, it was a global-conspiracy thriller using some of the hoariest tropes of that subgenre.

As long as you go in knowing that's what you'll get, it's good enough company. In case you're interested, my review is at http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/....
