College Students! discussion

I was thinking about starting a Facebook group in addition to the Twitter. I think most people are probably on Facebook rather than Twitter. I would do the same thing that I do for Twitter--important group updates, discussion, book news, book events, etc.

Would this be something you all would be interested and would participate in? Or would it not be helpful?

I'm not set on doing it. It was just a thought that I had so any feedback would be appreciated.

I would participate. I'm on facebook A LOT. Just be careful...only do it if you can keep up with it and manage it. Sometimes being on multiple networking sites can be tedious and time consuming.

Haha Ashley--It's what I do for my job. I'm on Twitter, Facebook, Blogger, etc. all day. But I agree with you on that one..it can become time consuming but I'm pretty good at it! :)

I'm ALWAYS on facebook, so I'd definitely join! I have a twitter and follow goodreads, but I get on twitter maybe once a month, so facebook would be so much nicer!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I was kind of thinking the same thing that alot of you have said--More people are on Facebook compared to Twitter.

Also, I was thinking that rather than making a group for us, it would be more beneficial to make an actual account because

1) You would get the updates on your newsfeed and I don't think you do with the group
2) We already have a group so we don't really need the one on Facebook!

i agree, jamie, that it shouldn't be a facebook group. i suggest making it a fan page -- you do get page updates in your news feed. actual accounts have limits on the number of friends they can have, etc etc.

Nah..you aren't uncool! Facebook is kinda lame to me these days. Their privacy is a joke. I'm sick of EVERYTHING I do being put on the news feeds of all my friends. You can hide some things but not all. Shouldn't I be able to choose what I let my friends see?? UGH!

I really only like it to keep in contact with people and it works really well for the group. You should just create a profile just for updates about the group :)

I actually have two accounts. My mom plays Farmville. I got to get accounts for her to have neighbors. She pretty much took them over. I do get on once in awhile to check out what kids from high school are up to, but very seldom to I post anything.

I got facebook when it first came out, and was like 10 schools. It's changed a lot.

Same here! I remember that my friend was the one who signed our college up for it!

When I signed up they required a school email address.

I'm on facebook all the time too... that's how I keep in touch with friends and how all my friends upload my drunken pics from the bar. Haha. So... everyone gets to see my sly dance moves!! I love our facebook page!
