This book is so not horror. If anything, it's paranormal/urban FANTASY. There is absolutely nothing scary in this book...I really enjoyed it and it's sequels, but is misclassified as 'horror'.
I didnt think it was horror either. When the book was published I dont think Urban Fantasy was a big genere so they lumped all these types of books in the horror section.

Obviously by someone who had never read them... = )
That is a possibility.
Urban Fantasy/Paranormal is a new term for me, but I remember in my teens reading novels that I could not understand why they were listed as Occult/Horror (Vampire DiariesThe Awakening for example).
I loved the entire series, though I never finished book 9 or 10 but I am excited to read 11, I also like how the series is written in such away that each book can be a stand-alone type novel, which does not always happen in a series. Armstrong is careful to add enough information that the reader is not left wondering "Who is this person and why should I care?"
I've RR'd Bitten several times since I first read it last year.
