Kathy (mamadav) | 15 comments I'm reading the 7th Victim by Alan Jacobson, it was a free Kindle find, I also downloaded Crush and Velocity. FBI Profiler Karen Vail is as good a character as you could find in one of Patricia Cornwell or James Patterson's books.........if murder mysteries are your thing, you'll love Alan Jacobson!

Just getting into Matterhorn. Found the large cast of characters tough to organize at first but it's growing on me fast. Great writing.

Miriam I read a couple paper books, but now I'm reading A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan on my Kindle. I really liked her first book The Keep, and might like this one even more.

message 322: by Katrina (last edited Dec 05, 2010 09:38AM) (new)

Katrina | 22 comments Just finished Catching Fire which both interested and put me off all at the same time. It was both too neat and than too disorganized...or something, I just am not sure. It probably just tore at my emotions, heartstrings and so much more to the point where I forgot which way is up and which way is down. Probably will take me a few days or so for it to fully settle in with me

Now I am trying to decide if I want to finish up with Mockingjay now or if I want to let the last book settle with me first.

message 323: by Tracey (new)

Tracey I'm currently reading one of Trisha Ashley's books.. called Twelve Days Of Christmas.. I'm really loving it. here's a bit about it.. go buy its wonderful xx

Christmas has always been a sad time for young widow Holly Brown, so when she's asked to look after a remote house on the Lancashire moors, the opportunity to hide herself away is irresistible – the perfect excuse to forget about the festivities.

Sculptor, Jude Martland, is determined that this year there will be no Christmas after his brother runs off with his fiancée and he is keen to avoid the family home. However, he will have to return by the twelfth night of the festivities, when the hamlet of Little Mumming hold their historic festivities and all of his family are required to attend.

Meanwhile, Holly is finding that if she wants to avoid Christmas, she has come to the wrong place. When Jude unexpectedly returns on Christmas Eve he is far from delighted to discover that Holly seems to be holding the very family party he had hoped to avoid.

Suddenly, the blizzards come out of nowhere and the whole village is snowed in. With no escape, Holly and Jude get much more than they bargained for – it looks like the twelve days of Christmas are going to be very interesting indeed!

message 324: by Miriam (new)

Miriam I am reading Dark Star and Frederica, but Frederica, which started out fun is boring me, and Dark Star isn't. Dark Star is an intense and very interesting read. It takes place in Germany, Russia, and France (mostly France) just before the German invasion of Poland and at the height of Stalin's purges. The protagonist is a Russian/Polish Jew who spies (not entirely willingly) for the NKVD.

message 325: by Evelynne (new)

Evelynne | 2 comments I'm reading Dead as a Doornail (Sookie Stackhouse, #5) by Charlaine Harris

Next up is Daggerspell (Deverry, #1) by Katharine Kerr

message 326: by Rob (new)

Rob (kanata) I'm reading Cold: Adventures in the World's Frozen Places which is a good short non-fiction read. Perfect for making my house feel even warmer in these winter months.

message 327: by Miriam (new)

Miriam I finished Dark Star (great book) and am now reading Pictures at a Revolution: Five Movies and the Birth of the New Hollywood. I thought the first 5-6 chapters were a bit stillted, but I'm liking it quite a bit now. The bits on the movie Bonnie and Clyde are the best.
