Kait Nolan (kaitnolan) So as a writer I blog. It's all part of that building a platform thing. I enjoy blogging and usually do so in one or more places on a daily basis. But I make the same--well not exactly mistake--but I do the same thing a lot of writers do. I blog about writing and about my work. Which is all well and good for connecting with other writers, but I'm betting it's not what you as readers want to hear about.

So I'm here to ask. There are 4,000+ of you here, all book lovers, all lovers of paranormal romance (which is what I write). What do YOU want to hear about from a writer? Our everyday lives? Funny stories about our kids or pets? Favorite recipes? Interviews with characters? What? Inquiring minds want to know!

Tika Newman (TikaNewman) | 11 comments I for one, post anything I feel like writing about. I feel that fans want to know about our day-to-day lives, as well as our writing. I post recipes, gardening, photos, talk about my family a bit, funny things that happened, etc. You name it and you may find it in my blog.

I believe you may be posting on the wrong thread.

Martina the Book Fairy (book_fairy) | 442 comments The best author blogs, IMO, are the ones that are a mix of everything you mentioned. Mostly their day-to-day stuff but with occassional highlights about their books, be it behind the scenes trivia, sneak-peeks of upcoming books, etc.

Mark Henry is actually one of my very favorite bloggers even though I'm not a huge fan of his books.

That's what I do as well. In yesterday's blog, I posted some of my father's World War II stories. I write what's important to me--and while it isn't all directly related to my books, some of my personal life always slips into my stories.

Everything is grist for the mill. :^)

AH | 123 comments Mollie above mentionned character interviews. It is really fun seeing an imaginary interview with a character or two talking about a scene in a book. I hate to say this but fanfiction writers do this really well. It gives you a different outlook and helps you understand the characters better.

Tour info, upcoming books, real life stories, are always interesting too.
