jenjn79 | 564 comments I've come across quite a few mainstream fiction books that in the title will say "UC Exp ______" (the line for title) or "OP ______"

Does anyone know what those letters/abbreviations mean? And do they have to stay in the title?

Debbie Moorhouse OP is possibly "out of print". The one I found--"UC CANCELLED Exp"--looked like a typing error. These inserts probably come over from amazon.com marketplace sellers, and it's likely they should be deleted.

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments Exp is most likely "Export" (I've seen it on other books in other contexts) but I don't know what the UC would stand for...

Regardless of what they mean (and I think Squirrel and Michael are probably both right), I don't think they should stay in titles. I think Squirrel is right about the source, too.

Jan (janchief) | 1 comments OP is definitely publisher's abbreviation for "out of print."

jenjn79 | 564 comments Thanks :) I'll go back and take them out of the titles.
