Susan I'm not sure if you would consider this series a cozy but it sounds really good and I want to read it. Has anyone ever read any of these books? There are 12 books in the series all written by different authors. If anyone has any info I should would love to hear it. Thank you so much!

I think this is the series you're referring to. Hope this helps.

Welcome to Tyler, America's favorite hometown. A town filled with memorable friends and unforgettable lovers. Share the passions, the hopes and dreams of America's favorite small town. Each book set in Tyler is a self-contained story; together, they stitch the fabric of a community.

Buying the books used, it took me a few years but I eventually found all of the original 12 although I have not read them yet. It looks like they originally may have wanted 26 in the series, since the books have an alphabet letter on the front cover. I have 5 duplicates of the original books listed on paperbackswap: http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/mem...

Here is a link to the expanded series on Amazon.com. They add additional books from later series. Their description: The list author says: "This is a list of all the Harlequin novels set in Tyler, Wisconson. The 12 books in Welcome to Tyler were released one a month starting in January, 1992. The 12 books in Hometown Reunion were released one a month starting in August of 1996. The 7 Return to Tyler books were released one a month starting in November of 2000. It's about time to go back to Tyler!" http://www.amazon.com/Welcome-Tyler-H...

Your welcome Susan. I slowly collected the original 12. I just found out about the expanded series books now, but I'm going to skip trying to locate them. They don't look as well put together as a series as a first original part. Checking what I already do have... I have none of the "Hometown Reunion" series. Of the 5 "Return to Tyler" books, I have 2. There are 4 Harlequin American Romances and 1 Harlequin Historicals in that. I wrote the titles down in case I stumble across them sometimes but I'm not going out of my way to find them. Yet. lol

Sounds alot like paperbackswap.

message 7: by Susan (new)

Susan It is just like paperbackswap....the website is www.bookmooch.com.

Shelby (shreavesfamily) | 16 comments do you have a preferance over the two sites? I love paperbackswap but I've had a few issues with BOOKMOOCH and I quit there. Paperbackswap has a much better selection anywa.

Susan For some reason, my books move alot faster on BM, I dont know why it just works better for me. I'm a member of both and have gotten really good books off of both.

Shelby (shreavesfamily) | 16 comments it's so odd how things work ... I guess that is why we are all so different.

My books move fast on BookMooch too, and have gotten good books from BookMooch. But lately there doesn't seem to be anything I want to mooch. I got really tired of seeing all those zeros, so pulled what I had posted for trade, dwindled my points down and don't use it any more.

Susan I have almost 800 books on my wishlist so........I always find something that I can mooch! Hahahaha.

I've never checked out Bookmooch, but have been on PBS for a couple of years now. Just recently put together the whole set of In Death books by J.D. Robb except for the newest paperback & hardcover. I had a bunch of credits and still have quite a few!

message 14: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (whatkreads) I love PBS as well! Been on there for a couple years now. My wish list is huge. I usually keep between 5-8 credits on there and I swap all the time. In fact, I get the majority of my cozy mysteries from there.

I don't think I want to know how many books are on my wish list. The number in the TBR pile is scary enough!

message 19: by Denise (new)

Denise | 618 comments I have read the original 12 books in the Tyler series. They are good but not cozy mysteries. I didn't know about the extended series. Guess I'll have to check them out!

That IS a lot! I only trade on PBS and my wish list is usually somewhere around 25 books or so.

message 22: by Denise (new)

Denise | 618 comments Kate, Susan, Melodie and anyone else who uses PBS or Bookmooch how does that work? I know that you just pay the shipping but do you pay it after you receive the book or what? I have never used either of those and I think there is also a book exchange here on Goodreads because I don't understand how it works.

message 23: by Susan (last edited Apr 25, 2010 07:22AM) (new)

Susan I'm not sure how the book exchange on here works but on Bookmooch you list the books you want to give away. You get points for those books. You have to use your points to request the books. Others will mooch your books and you pay the shipping to get the book to them. You look for books you want to read and request them from other members. They pay the shipping to get the book to you. It only costs about 2.36 for a paperback and a little more for hardcover. You can set up your account to send overseas or not. It is pretty expensive to do that but if I have a request for overseas I usually do it. I love sharing my books with others.

For PBS (and possibly others), it's pretty easy. At paperbackswap I signed up listing 10 books I was willing to part with and got 2 free book credits. If anyone wants one of your books, you pay postage to mail it out (from $1.70 to $2.38 roughly, via media mail). For every book you mail out you get 1 credit (2 credits for an audiobook). Use your credits to order a book from another member. This doesn't cost you anything other than 1 credit per book. You only pay when you mail a book out, get the credit for it once it arrives, and can then use your credit to get a book mailed to you free.

message 28: by Denise (new)

Denise | 618 comments I guess I had it backwards about paying the postage on PBS and Bookmooch. I thought that the person requesting the book paid the postage to get the book not the person that owns the book and is sending it out. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

This way Denise, you pay the post office postage. To do it the other way, you'd have to send money to the person mailing it to you and then hope they mailed the book after getting paid. This way, only the post office gets the money for mailing, and if you are worried about the other person not marking it received you can either pay for comfirmation of delivery from the post office, or just add some funds to an account with paperbackswap and when you print off a mailing label, you can have the postage printed right on it from your account and you get credit for your book being mailed immediately.
