oh yeah if anyone could shake him up it's the Mega! like she's already given him hell. First, she tells him she was in Christian's bed, then throws a fucking bomb at him and runs away. Then meets up with Christian, disappears for a couple of weeks where he can't track her, comes out holding Christian's hand.. the dude who's bed she was in and who she was supposedly afraid was going to kill her. and then she KILLS Ryodan. LMAOI loved the boat scene too, she's so 14 there. "my worst nightmare, Ryodan's in bed with me!" lol Ryodan's pretty funny in that scene too, actually the both are. One of the few times in Iced I really liked him
another scene I loved was when Dani convinces Jo to take her to see Dancer, and when she doesn't want to let Dani freeze frame with her Dan's like "it ain't cuz I'm a sloppy freeze framer, it's because of stupid jerk ass Ryodan!" and he comes up behind and says "stupid jerk ass ryodan's gonna break both your legs" LOL followed by her accusing him of stalking her.
best line in the whole book tho is "this ain't no fecking campfire and cuddle!" ahahaahahahahaha

That was one of my biggest problem with Dani's POV, she didn't catch certain things. She even mentions she barely understands what they were talking about. Also, she didn't stop to think on things.

yeah it drove me fecking crazy not knowing or even being able to try to GUESS but at the same time I liked it because it showed her innocence and was realistic. she IS 14 after all

Yeah, I mean the fact that she didn't understand all the looks being exchanged was frustrating but understandable. After all it's pretty much in character for her not to know the looks the dudes were giving her, as she hadn't exactly been surrounded by males during her life. First the cage, then the girls only sidhe seer abbey.

I reread the fever series for the first time, and even though I used to have minimal emotional interest in Dani's character. LOL. In this reread all her scenes made me so emo.
This scene in particular made me a little teary- now that we know the context of Dani's life and her tears.
" Dunno how you survived, she said, and began to cry...I wiped at her cheeks some more, pushed at her hair, fretted and fussed like my mom and Alina had fretted over me whenever I wept.
She didn‘t cry pretty. She cried like a storm breaking loose, a storm that had been brewing for a long time. I suspected she was crying for things I knew nothing about and might never know. Dani was an intensely private person. She cried like her heart was breaking, like her soul was in those tears......
I began telling Dani about my parents. About what life had been like growing up in a happy home in the Deep South. About magnolia-scented days and sultry heat, slow-paddling fans and pool parties. She stilled in my arms. After a while, she stopped crying and leaned back on the couch, staring at me like a stray cat with its nose pressed to the window of a restaurant."
Man, I even like the fact that she cries like a fugly person. Everything endears me more to her character. I've become like a full blown Dani groupie. :D
To think that was probably the first time Dani had cried in years. (since she said she hadn't even cried when her mum died) It's too much. My poor baby, she feels things so deeply. :'(

lmfao fresiako you're too much! I remember feeling so sad for her in that scene. I always really loved Dani in the fever series! I know so many people thought she was annoying but the fever world was always so dark and Dani really lightened it up. I've always said the scene where Dani kills the UP is my favorite scene in the whole series, such a fucking triumph!I loved when Mac and her were friends, they were good for eachother. (though I wish Mac would've been a little bit better of a friend) It's so rare you see two girls kicking ass together, I fecking loved it. It was sad how Dani was always shocked when Mac said something nice to her or cared about her. :( damn.
I wonder why none of the sidheseers ever cared about her.. makes me think Rowena kept Dani to herself a lot once she found her. Ryodan did say she turned her into a watch dog

Dani the fire haired prince slayer. Who knows, maybe Dani will end up slaying the UK. And end up as the kingslayer of the fever series. Sorry Jaime, you might have competition.
This time through I think I loved it even more. LOL.
I love how she slays him and snarls at Barrons and gives him shit, basically calling him out on being a useless all talk no walk dickhead. And then when Barrons is faster than her, and respects her as a woman she promptly decides to give him her virginity. Haha, I didn't think I could love her more. Oh, you know when dani runs through the corridor to get the sword to save mac and she feels a presence after running away from Barrons and his crew, in the hallway. Do you think that might have been Ryo? I still can't figure out who it could be? I don't remember her specifically describing Ryo in that scene. Which I find kind of weird.
And when she tells Vlane to his face that she's going to give him her virginity one day. LOL. Such cringe. Much cute. Only Dani. xD

I know I miss their friendship. Hopefully it'll be less hero worshipy on Dani's end when they become best buds again. I loved how they had their girly prissy fight in the start of Burned. LOL. Pulling each others hair and shit. Like real sisters.
I think they didn't care about her, cause they all were scared of her. Remember how Dani when Jo's all 'your a traitor- Mac deserved to get raped" got all mad and backed her into the wall and started vibrating or whatever and Jo got all scared. Even Dani's own mother was scared of Dani so... Imagine how much that must have destroyed her self image. This is why I want Ryo to be with Dani lol. He can accept all of her. He loves all of her! :'(
As well as the fact that Rowena seemed to try to monopolize Dani and isolate her from her peers. So that she would be easier to control and so that she couldn't tell anyone about the crazy shit that Rowena made her do. And also if Dani had no one to turn to other than Rowena she'd be emotionally dependent on Rowena forever and do her bidding for her.
Aww fuck it, I'm going to share some of the best Dani moments from the first five books (all of them. LOL): 1) Dani watching her hardcore porn. LOL:

Let‘s write down all the wonderful things in the world. ‗Cause I been looking really hard lately, and I ain‘t been seeing a fecking one!" Her hands were fisted and she was shaking. It had taken me until I was twenty-two to be carved by tragedy. How old was Dani when its razor-sharp teeth drew first blood? She‘d told me her mother was killed by the Fae six years ago, which would have made her seven at the time. Had she watched it happen? Was that how long she‘d been with Rowena? What had the ruthless old woman been doing to her all that time?
―What happened to you, Dani?" I said softly.
―You think you have the right to just ask me that? Like I‘m gonna peel myself open and let you poke around inside me? Like you can pour me out like some little teapot, cause you‘re dangling me by my handle?"...―You‘re trying to! Trying to force me to spill my secrets! Dump em all over the place so once you know em you can throw me away like a piece of trash, same as the Unseelie Princes did to you! Like some stupid fecking stupid fecker that shouldn‘t have even been fecking born!"
2) Dani's being shocked by anyone caring about her well being. :'(
"She gave me a quick, startled look. "Okay, Mac."
Had everyone at the abbey left her alone for so long that a mere expression of concern for her well-being startled her?"
AND when Mac apologizes Dani's reaction.:
“I was a dick. And it may not have bothered you, but it drove me crazy. Forgive me?”
She jerked and gave me an uncomfortable look. The precocious, gifted teen had been treated one of two ways at the abbey: ordered around or ignored. I doubted anyone had ever bothered to apologize to her for anything.
3) THIS SCENE. LOL.
She preened. “He brought me chocolate. Dude—like I’m his Valentine or something. Me and him, we had a talk. Told him I’m almost fourteen and I’m gonna give him my virginity one day.”
4) Adorable Dani being adorable:
“Don’t give me no tender-age bunk,” Dani growled. “ ’Sides, I’m gonna be ten and four soon.” She beamed around the table. “February twentieth, don’t forget. I like chocolate cake. Not yellow. Hate fruit in my cakes. Chocolate on chocolate, the more the better.”
FRESIAKO STOP I CANT HANDLE IT AHHHAHAHAHAHA "such cringe much cute" yeah whenever she said that I was like noooo no no no but man is she the most precious human being.
and I agree, everyone has always been so scared of her and that's why I love Ryodan. he ain't afraid of nobody, he sees the challenge and he's ready to take it on. he's frickin ready to give her all the love in Earth and Faery -- you just KNOW he has a bunch to give. bless.

I knooow, I got that impression too and I don't like it :( It would take A LOT for her to be grateful for Jada's presence..
I think her superpowers might have gone out for a long period of time, and she lost the sword that made her feel invincible, on top of believing she'd been left for dead... before she goes into the portal she has an emotional meltdown where she shows some self loathing and I can totally see that translating into her not wanting to be Dani anymore. (gah my heart breaks for her)
I mean Mac made a swipe at her head, her sidheseer sisters practically hate her, if she figured time moved like it did in the white mansion Dancer would be super old or dead, Ryodan wasn't coming and would probably kill Jo bc she broke the contract, Christian was stuck with the hag because of her, WeCare was fucking with her saying she was responsible for all the abbey deaths ... like damn that's one big ass storm! not to mention whatever hell she was fighting in faery!
I don't like the idea of just Ryodan having to save her that way though! I hope it's a collective effort, people who Dani fought for will fight for her to come back.
yes, I agree! I don't want to Ryodan to be her only salvation, just a big part of it -- I want her to save herself, learn to love and accept herself, with the support of all the people who truly love her. I want her to have a family, and Ryodan. I want her to save the world and realize she's the freaking badass superhero she always wanted to be :')

But the whole appeal of Dani is that it's NOT about the romance, we're invested in her and seeing what path she's going to choose.
The only thing that does not give me the feeling that Dani is not that into Dancer is the following she said in iced!! That she thinks Dancer is like a brother to her? And friends don't build cages for each other? She loves him more like family then anything else?
I think Dani's never had a guy friend before and she's confused about her feelings about him and how much she cares about him, her best guess is that he's like a brother to her. she's said a bunch of things that make it seem like she likes him more than that- she says he's hot, she checks him out, she loves his hands and she can never wait to see him again and adores him. Dani thinks someone caring about her is them trying to cage her, so I think that she might think having a boyfriend would cage her as well. she doesn't have any experience on the whole attainable crush thing at all, and doesn't know anything about having people genuinely care about her. and Dancer definitely wants Dani
