What would you recommend?"

I haven't read the Dodd book, but the Georgina books are some of my favorites, this one the best of them so far.

I just finished The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong The Awakening (Darkest Powers, #2) by Kelley Armstrong The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3) by Kelley Armstrong . I really loved the characters.

Now reading Unwind by Neal Shusterman which is really good but so creepy to think about the premise.

Sarah | 74 comments I'm about halfway through Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8) by J.R. Ward

message 6: by Marissa (new)

Marissa (millionmph) | 237 comments I think everyone but me has now read Lover Mine, but I still have to get through Lover Enshrined and Lover Avenged before I'll consider buying Mine. I'm just NOT a fan of Phury and cant seem to pick it up with interest.
So, I guess I will continue through Richelle Meads Succubus series until my new Sookie book arrives...for now.

message 7: by Toni (new)

Toni | 49 comments I just finished One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost which was great and now I am reading Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead which I am enjoying and I am still reading The Sweet Far Thing (Gemma Doyle, #3) by Libba Bray which is taking me awhile because it is really long and I have so many other books I want to read. Also, I usually read at night and the Sweet Far Thing really CREEPS me out and I hear noises etc...so it is taking me awhile to read. I LOVE it (and the whole trilogy) though.

Addicted by Charlotte Featherstone

Alycia I suggest reading them in order because some characters are recurring. First Addicted then Sinful.

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (splue) | 14 comments Well I just finished Darkfever, and am starting Bloodfever today. I really like Darkfever only the romance (or lack there of) bothered me!! I wasn't reading this book for the romance, I enjoyed the UF parts of it and I'm sure I'll get addicted based on what others have said of the other books but can anyone tell me if the romance increases in the second book?! I just want Barrons and Mac to do something about it already!!! haha

Keri wrote: "Have you finished Unwind? I wasn't crazy about the ending. What'd you think?"

I really liked the book but I'm an easy-to-please reader. I thought the ending left itself open if he wanted to write a sequel and apparently he is. :)

Now I'm reading The Secret Hour (Midnighters, #1) by Scott Westerfeld which I am loving.

message 23: by Keri (new)

Keri Just finished Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger which was very well written & smart but not sure "steampunk" is my cup of tea.
I'm now almost finished with The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole which I'm liking despite the crazy terms (horde, lore, etc.) and I'll next be reading A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole can't wait!

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished The Secret Hour (Midnighters, #1) by Scott Westerfeld and I'm excited to read the next two books in the series.

Right now, I'm reading Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia which I like but it has abrupt transitions that I'm trying to get used to. I like the characters so we'll see how it goes.

message 27: by [deleted user] (last edited May 26, 2010 11:47AM) (new)

I finished Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia and gave it 2 stars. It was OK.
Also read Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry Trilogy, #1) by Simone Elkeles which I loved.
I'm reading the second book in the Midnighters series Touching Darkness (Midnighters, #2) by Scott Westerfeld . I really like this series.

Can you tell I'm a YA nut?!

now that ive started adult books i just cannot get back into young adult books. i was like forget it, ill just read all the adult ones i have in my TBR shelf then the young adult books.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I like mostly YA but have read this series and the Midnight Breed series. For adult non-PNR, I loved The Help and Water for Elephants.

message 30: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) I like to mix them up so I don't get into a reading rut.

message 31: by Mariel (new)

Mariel (fuchsiagroan) I finished Sherry Thomas' His At Night. I really liked it a lot. I'll probably start one of the few Julia Quinn's I have in my tbr pile now, or the ya book Shiver. Decisions... (Or I could read all of them!)

I too love the Immortals After Dark series.

message 32: by Nicole (last edited Jun 28, 2010 02:28PM) (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments I just finished Academy 7 and loved it. I don't know if this would be the type of series many of you would like. It is YA and dystopian, romance but very PG, unfortunately. I don't know if I liked because it was good or because it was the first good thing I have read since finishing Spirit Bound. You guys would like Nalini Singhs psy/changeling seriesSlave to Sensation... it is a good series. I need more series to read.. I have read BDB, Vampire Academy, like every YA book out there, all the Highlanders, all the Dark Hunter series...

BTW how do you guys get those little books in your post?

message 33: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments I heard the Chicagoland books are good... Lady Vale have you read any of Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter series, there are like twenty books? I love Lords of the Underworld. Thanks for all the suggestions Vale!!!

What else have I read, there is so much...
Vale do you love the Vampire Academy series? That is actually tied for fave series witht he fever series for me.

message 34: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments HAHAHA. I dont know they are tied for me. I think I will go with Angel's Blood for tonight's reading...

I read a book a day, pretty much!

Susan I am now reading Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr and am loving it!

message 40: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments I bought the first in the demonica series, but decided I wanted to read No Rest for the Wicked (Immortals After Dark, #3) by Kresley Cole instead, finished that and am now currently reading Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #4) by Kresley Cole

I know I am a psycho

message 41: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments They are good. For PNR though I am still shipping BDB the most. I have't found another that I like as much, I really wish I could.

message 42: by Mariel (new)

Mariel (fuchsiagroan) I quite like the two books so far in Jill Myles's Succubus Diaries books, Gentlemen Prefer Succubi and Succubi Like It Hot.

message 43: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments Lady Vale wrote: "Nah, totally understandable, lol. I read every book in that series in a day, couldn't put them down."

So Vale-- I started the Night Huntress series and don't really like it. Do the subsequent books get better? It seems like Cat and Bones are a little boring (to me). Doesn't their relationship get old, too? I mean, its like a done deal in the first book.

message 44: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments Really, your second fave!? No I am not completely finished with Halfway to the Grave. But now you got me a little more excited. It did remind me exactly like Buffy! It changes?

We seem to have similar tastes. And I loooovvveed the Demonica series.

message 45: by kc (4saintjude) (new)

kc (4saintjude) (4saintjude) | 13 comments OMG, Cat and Bones relationship boring? They have some of the hottest and the funniest scenes ever written. I'd say if you are not a convert by Chapter 32 of One Foot in the Grave, that you should probably give it up.

message 46: by Nicole (last edited Jul 12, 2010 12:46PM) (new)

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments Thanks for the specifics Kc! I havent finished the first book, so I will keep going.

Okay I am going to keep reading, it has been decided!

message 49: by Alysse (new)

Alysse | 6 comments can anyone recommend any non-vampire books (similar to the fever series). i'm in a non-vampire mood. has to have some romance (ok sex) though, or else it isnt fun :-)

message 50: by Mariel (new)

Mariel (fuchsiagroan) There are vampires in Guild Hunters, but it is an angels series at heart. How about Gena Showalter's Tales of an Extraordinary Girl? Mad scientists are the baddies. I personally love to death Juliet Marillier's fae series Sevenwaters.
