Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments *This is inspired by a challenge started by Moderatrix Lori in another group here on Good Reads.

Basically, the idea is that if you finish a book and find yourself unsure about what to read next, or you want someone to pick for you just for the heck of it, you can post to ask for a recommendation.

The Rules

1) Post your request. The book recommendation has to be something already on your to-read list, but you can make the request as specific as you want. For example, you can say, “pick something from my romance shelf” or “pick any book as long as it’s not listed under a challenge tag” or even “I’m torn between these three books, help me choose.”
2) You have to read the first recommendation posted. (So, if you want to make a recommendation for someone, make sure you refresh the thread to make sure someone hasn’t already beaten you to it.) If there is more than one recommendation made at the same time - for example, you see that Jane and Ann posted their comments exactly five minutes ago - then you can choose between them.
3) If you want the book to be strictly from the paranormal (or any other) genre, please make sure to specify that in your request. If not, any book on your to-read list is fair game.

And that’s it! I thought it was a fun idea for the people who didn’t necessarily want to participate in the monthly challenge. In a couple of the other groups I’m in there are monthly pick-it-for-me challenges and I think the idea of having someone else choose for you is fun. I hope you all like the idea. :)

(Note to the Moderator: I put this under general discussion because it relates to books. If you think it should be under “Totally Off Topic” or any other thread, please let me know and I’ll move it.)

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments To start it off, will someone please pick a book for me to read from my "RRRC Serial Reader Challenge" shelf? ‎

Thanks in advance!

Nairabell | 193 comments How about Moon Called? It's a great urban fantasy and having a coyote shifter as the lead character is pretty unique - plus there's a vamp who drives a VW bus decked out like the Mystery Machine lol! :)

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments Thanks, Nairabell! I just started "Phantom Waltz" earlier today, so I'll read "Moon Called" as soon as I finish. :)

Nairabell | 193 comments I'm finishing up with a YA series at the mo - but what should I read next? Dark Lover,Mind Game or A Hunger Like No Other?

message 10: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 453 comments Depends on what kind of PNR romance your interested in. If you like your PNR witty I'd go with A Hunger Like No Other. Romance with psychologic aspects, Mind Game & modern PNR that leans towards Urban Fantasy Dark Lover. All three of them have steamy sex scenes & strong heroes & heroines. I know I'm only supposed to choose one but imo it depends on your mood.

Nairabell | 193 comments I'll be reading all three this month for various challenges, I just don't know which to start with! Which would you start with?

Desperado (lethallovely) | 453 comments I'd go for A Hunger Like No Other. That's my favorite out of the trio. Boy that was a hard decision to make because all three of them are pretty good series imo.

Nairabell | 193 comments Thanks LethalLovely! As soon as I'm done with the YA books I'll leap straight in to that!

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments I haven't read "Mind Games" yet, but I also would have suggested reading AHLNO first. I love the IAD series. :)
