KristenR (klrenn) | 124 comments I didn't realize that there would be such a cliffhanger at the end of this book!!! I'm not sure I would have read it if I knew that I'd have to read all the other books to get any kind of closure ;)

Anyway...I liked it....though, like most epic novels (for me) around 3/4 of the way through I felt like things got bogged down and it was a little tough for me to finish.

I'm glad I did, though, and I'm looking foward to the discussion.

Sandi (sandikal) I feel the same way. Frankly, I just want to know how it turns out with Dany, but I really don't care about the rest.

Yes. Not even a pretense at closure.

Angie | 342 comments You seem to have to read the entire series to get any closure. It was really left up in the air so you have to read on.

Sandi (sandikal) Martin hasn't even finished writing the series!

theduckthief | 14 comments If he finishes "A Dance of Dragons" on time it will be published this September. I can't wait!

Andy (oncemorewithfeeling) | 5 comments Don't hold your breath Duck Theif! He has left for Spain and Portugal with the book unfinished which means no way will it be published this fall. Its a great set of books and I hope that they get finished and I can watch my children and grand children enjoy reading them. But we have only been given four books in 12 years, my guess is that if we are lucky enough to have the series completed it will be done about 2012, which will make Martin 64 when its finished.

And frankly Kristen the only sense of closure you get right now is when people in this series of books die.

Personally I am really hoping that a TV script adaption for an HBO/BBC collaboration gets approved, then while watching it I can pass the time between the 5th and sixth book.

Cinda (weirweaver) I love this series, but every time I see one of his stray off-topic books come out, I think, Get back to business GRR! Focus!! Guess he doesn't feel the same kind of pressure I do when a book deadline is looming.

Hopefully he's in good health. :) I read comments on the Robert Jordan Website after he died and people were saying, "Isn't it awful1 Um. Does anyone know if he left a manuscript behind?"

Jon (jonmoss) | 889 comments With respect to Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson was selected by Jordan's wife to write the final book A Memory of Light.

I subscribed to Brandon's blog recently so I could keep up-to-date on his progress with that novel.
