Do you really want to get me started on Anne Stuart? I could write a book about my love for her!

Yeah, Danielle did the same with me.

Yes, write that book. :)
Yes, write that book. :)

I did just pick up Silver Falls yesterday from the library and will get to it sometime this week. It isn't in the ice series so I am looking forward to seeing how this one is.
I've heard the heroine in Silver Falls is quite annoying. I hope that doesn't diminish your enjoyment of the book, Darcy. Oh, you will probably fall more in love with Reno when you read his book. I know I did.

I'll let you know what I think of both of them.

Why Anne Stuart is my favorite author: She writes tension like no other author. Her dialogue is perfect, not giving away too much, but never sounding stilted. I love her heroes. They are dark and enigmatic, often dangerous, often morally flexible. They are on the road to hell, but love saves them. They don't want love, but the heroine finds their way into their hearts. She has some really good humor in her books, and she does really good suspense. I might guess who the villain is, but the reading journey is still fun. The love scenes are sensual and hot, but never vulgar. She is just a great story-teller and writer to me. She's not for everyone. I know some people think I'm crazy because she's my favorite. But, I fell for her a long time ago, and I've never fell out of love with her books.
This is a list of my favorite Anne Stuart books:
Black Ice
Cold As Ice
Ice Blue
Fire And Ice
Ice Storm
Into The Fire
The Devil's Waltz
Shadows At Sunset
Lord of Danger
Still Lake
Ritual Sins
Hidden Honor
To Love a Dark Lord
A Rose at Midnight
Cinderman
The Soldier And The Baby
Shadow Dance
One Night With a Rogue
Catspaw
Dark And Stormy Night
Winter's Edge
Crazy Like A Fox
Glass Houses
Catspaw II
Blue Sage
Lazarus Rising
Special Gifts
Now You See Him...
Rafe's Revenge
The Spinster and the Rake
Rancho Diablo
Angels Wings
Chasing Trouble
Right Man
Night And Day
Oh, I like how AS heroes might be the bad guy in another, more mainstream, conventional author's book. It's like we are sitting there watching tv and we look at each and say, "What if the bad guy was the good guy in his own book?" Just awesome!

We definitely were. :)

I was just thinking, while reading One More Valentine, that the villain of that book was kind of like one of Stuart's heroes -- he's reformed by love. Then when his wife dies, he goes bad again. Although I think he was more actively evil than any of her heroes are, really enjoying torture for example.

I thought "Silver Falls" was awful. I couldn't even finish it. It's the only Anne Stuart book that I didn't like at all.

I think she really pushes the envelope with the Ice series heroes.
Darcy and Harper, too bad you didn't like Silver Falls. I hope you enjoy the next AS books you read.

I sort of wish I had quit it too after I was done. It is one of those books that should have a money and time back guarantee.

It's my understanding that the prequel, The Wicked House of Rohan, will be free to read, and she'll post a link on her blog. It's also on Kindle. It's listed as $2.39 right now, but I heard it was supposed to be free on July 1st.

Hidden Honor
Shadows At Sunset
Shadow Lover
Lord Of Danger
Into The Fire
I'm sure they wont be on my tbr shelf long =)
Those are all good, although Shadow Lover isn't one of my personal faves. I need to reread. I'm jazzed you love A Rose at Midnight. I adore that book!

I`m so glad to hear someone else can barely stand to start reading a series all the board members raave about.
I have definitly done that with Arch`s Sam and all of Suzannes books.
Noelle I have been saving Stuarts Ice series for several years now-it sounds like most others on the boards you love them?

I did really love them kathy Anne. They were the first that I had read from her and I really loved how she wrote her anti-hero's and all of the sexual tention. One of my fav. of her hero's was Takashi O'brien(he's from the third book). I had never really read about an Asian hero before and I found him really hot. He's Asian/Irish, and the discription of him was yummie!
Anne Stuart is someone I admire very much. My love for her went even higher when she had books with Asian heroes. I love Asian men!!!
Rae wrote: "I so need to get back to her Ice series. I'm so jazzed because I get to read about Takashi next!"
Which book is he in?
Which book is he in?

Did she write many other historicals? Are they as good as this one?

Tammy she has several historicals. I think that a lot of her older historicals are better than Devil's Waltz. That's JMO.
Arch, Taka is in Ice Blue.

Hopefully, this weekend I might find at least one of the ice series books, if I go book shopping.
Lady Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "I still have Black Ice for you."
Thanks. I'm waiting on that book.
I hope to find the other two. There's four books to the series, right?

Thanks for posting those colorful books Danielle.
Wow! Is it a good thing that I have read Fire and Ice first? Reno's story?
Maybe it's a reason that I have gotten his book first.
