That's just one. I usually finish a couple of books per week. I've been reading a lot more non-genre and mystery/thrillers than usual lately too.

Hard Case Crime is having a Mother's Day sale with many of their books marked down to $2. Because nothing says, "I love you, mom," like a copy of Say It With Bullets. So I now have a giant box full of pulpy crime novels that will occupy my hard-copy reading for the rest of the year.

On the science fiction front, I'm nearly done with The Complete Stories of Robert Bloch, Volume 1: Final Reckonings. I bought it with a gift certificate after Christmas, but ended up putting it aside after fifty or sixty pages. It's one of those collections that's ordered in chronological order, and Bloch wrote his earliest stories when he was still a teenager. You have to wade through 150 pages before he starts to get good.

In the SF genre I'm listening to Going Postal in order to check out Terry Pratchett. The blatant humor's not typically my thing, but I'm enjoying it.

I'm also taking my 3rd run through What's So Amazing About Grace?, in my opinion the most important book I've ever read after the Bible.

Dead-tree style: I'm reading Heart of the Game: Life, Death, and Mercy in Minor League America My oldest son is a HS baseball player with aspirations to play college and pro ball. This book has some fascinating insight into the world of minor league baseball. I'll be passing it along to him to read.

I'm working on being patient enough to wait for Audible to put out Bitter Seeds, but may pick up a hard copy.

I just started listening to Cat's Cradle

Just finished Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom and Fantasy Freaks and Gaming Geeks: An Epic Quest for Reality Among Role Players, Online Gamers, and Other Dwellers of Imaginary Realms. I'm now reading Dracula online, and I'm trying to decide what to pick off my to-read list to start next in hardcopy. I don't think I'll read Bitter Seeds though.

Just started Bitter Seeds - really enjoying it so suspect I'll get through it pretty quickly and then may go on to Cory Doctorow's latest For The Win.

In the last month or so I've also started reading chapter books to my almost 6 year old in the evenings before bed - we've just finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which he loved so we're about to go on to Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. We also have The Hobbit: Or There and Back Again and The Phantom Tollbooth waiting on the to-read pile.

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms and just started Battles of the Bible: A Military History of Ancient Israel.

Finished Bitter Seeds - a quick read but well worth it. It has a breathless pace to it that just drags you along. Giving scifi a break and reading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" now to see what all the fuss is about.

I just finished reading Infinite Jest. It was an amazing read. Now, in addition to reading Bitter Seeds, I'm listening to a mystery-thriller book from Audible, Move to Strike.

I just finished rereading Shadow of the Hedemon and Shadow Puppets by Orson Scott Card, but I can't my copy of Shadow of the Gients!

I'm also still listening to Sophie's World by Jostien Gaarder and read by Simon Vance. I'm almost done with it though, only 2 hours left. :)

And now I'm going to et started on Bitter Seeds! :)
