I agree with Charlotte about Cashore's Graceling and Fire--FANTASTIC!
Wings by Aprilynne Pike (the sequel just came out, too)
Full Moon by Rachel Hawthorne (there are a bunch of sequels, too)
Minder by Kate Kaynak (DISCLAIMER: yeah, this is me, but I saw your list and just LOVED a bunch of the books on it)
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia (and the sequel is coming out in a few months!)
Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow
i would suggest for any fantasy lovers out there the inheritance cycle, midnighters, harry potter, maximum ride, and chronicals of ancient darkness

Lindsey just told you. a member asked for book suggestions, so we are supplying them.

I read that Lewis stole Tolkien's ideas or something like that.

I read that Lewis stole Tolkien's ideas or something like that."
that's not true

Because he didn't like allegory, which Narnia uses. :)"
But he uses allegory as well ..... but he DID hate them.....I think it was because he found it innappropriate for the situations C.S. Lewis used it

but don't quote me lol

Lewis was an atheist, then became a theist through his friendship with Tolkien, but Tolkien was a little disappointed (not "angry") when Lewis became a member of the Church of England and not Roman Catholicism, which was Tolkien's faith. They were still friends, though, and the basic principles of religion they agreed upon.
I've read 2 Tolkien biographies and just took a college course of the life and works of CS Lewis. This is a subject I am very much familiar with.

-Song of a Sparrow by Lisa Ann Sandell
-The outsiders by S.E Hinton
-Thirteen Reasons why by Jay Asher
-Airhead by Meg Cabot
-Candy by Kevin Brooks
-Along for a ride by Sarah Dessen (any books by Sarah dessen actualy)
- THe things they carried by Tim O'Brien
-Life as we knew it by Susan Beth Pfeffer
i love Life as we knew it! did you read the sequals?
i read Dead and gone it was really good not as good as the first but almost. dead and gone was cool because of how different the perspective was, new york city was a great setting. what is the third one called?

The third was This World We Live In.
The third was This World We Live In.
Anyone know any good books I could read? I'd appreciate if they wheren't vampire books. I'm tired of those.
how about "the last knight" by hilari bell, its my current obssesion.
its the first book in a fantasy series set in a sorta medival land. certain plants and animals may be "magica" and there for are protected and cant be killed/eaten without proper sacrifice first. there are two main characters Fisk and Micheal, Micheal is a noble who has left his home to become a "knight errent" who travals the land doing good deeds but mostly just getting in trouble. Fisk is a *ahem* retired con man who was saved from hanging by micheal and now travals with him even though he thinks knight errentry is stupid. many adventures ensue...
Oh. Sounds good. I'll have to look for it. :)
Morpheus Road (The Light) is good. :)
neither have i, i see a ton of hype about it though.

On the previous page, Skye, people have responded to you...
Anyway, I have and have read the Vampire Academy (by *Richelle Mead* ) books. Spirit Bound is waiting in my TBR pile. I'm trying to read through the entire library first. (Kidding... kinda)
I am probably partial to them because of my and the Main Characters namesake. But I do like the drama of undying love... literally. I actually thing that VA is better than Twilight. But that is merely my opinion.
What can I add to this recommendation list that wasn't already said...
Well, I don't remember seeing any *Robin Wasserman*?
She has a mystery/thriller series for YA/Children called Chasing Yesterday: Awakening, Betrayal, Truth ... These are fresh in my head, I just finished the series and they are still lying on my bedroom floor.
I like her syfy YA series: Skinned was Jaw Clenching Good, Crashed was Just as good, if not Better!!, Wired <--On my TBR list
Here are the covers:

Skinned was blurbed by *Scott Westerfeld* author of the Uglies Trilogy/Series:

And the Midnighters Series: Touching Darkness,Blue Noon,The Secret Hour<--I love what happens to Jessica at the end ;) ;) OH and, of course, Leviathan--which I'm reading at the moment. It's good, so far.
