#2: This World We Live In was a huge disappointement in my opinion. The characters are flat and seem to have changed personalities without any explanation. Plus, the "love story" between Miranda and Alex could have been told much better.

#4: Oh. My. Gods.
A pretty good book, although I found the ending slightly disappointing.

#5: PrettyTOUGH

Quick reads.

#7: The Beautiful Game: Sixteen Girls and the Soccer Season That Changed Everything
I liked this one for the most part, but I didn't like the authors style of always switching view points without ever tying them together.

#8: My Most Excellent Year
I liked this one more than I had expected to.

#9: The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks
MY NEW MOST FAVORITE BOOK EVER!!!!!

#13: The Bar Code Tattoo
This was recommended by someone, but I didn't like it very much.

#14: Inferno
We read this at school - I didn't like it very much, but there were some good creative allusions and punishments.

Just looked this up and sounds fun. have added it to my TBR list.

#17: Fang I began to lose interest in this series with all the global warming explanations and environmental focus, but Fang made up for it. I was sooo sad when I read the ending though.

#18: Little Brother
I loved this book. It explained technology without boring the audience, and I loved the overall theme. I loved every part of the book and read it in one sitting.

#19: Ophelia Pretty clever, although I lost interest quickly during her journey. In fact, I skipped over the whole thing, which is something I rarely do.

#20: Goddess Boot Camp
The first book was good (even though I wasn't a huge fan of the ending), so I decided to read the second. Honestly, it took me about 100 pages to finally get into the book; however, I did enjoy it once I got interested.

#21: A Midsummer Night's Dream This was required reading for school, and I was dreading it because I disliked Romeo and Juliet. However, I actually enjoyed this Shaekspeare piece.

#22: Bad Monkeys had a great book and interesting, clever story plot up until the beginning of the end. After that the plot twists were unbelieveable and crazy.

#23: Stargirl
Someone gave me Love, Stargirl for Chrismas a couple of years ago, and I read it even though I hadn't read the first book. Finally I decided to give Stargirl a try, even though I hadn't liked the sequel very much. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed Stargirl.

#24: Ella Enchanted
I saw this on so many must-read lists that I finally decided to read it even though it was below my reading level. It surprised me because it was so different from the movie, but both were enjoyable in different ways.

#25: The Mysterious Benedict Society
This book was clever - I especially liked the idea of children thoughts going unnoticed because adults never listen to kids.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

#26: The Boyfriend List: 15 Guys, 11 Shrink Appointments, 4 Ceramic Frogs and Me, Ruby Oliver I read this because I loved another book by Lockhart, but this was a disappointment in comparison.

#27: The Boy Book: A Study of Habits and Behaviors, Plus Techniques for Taming Them
#28: The Treasure Map of Boys: Noel, Jackson, Finn, Hutch, Gideon—and me, Ruby Oliver
So even though I didn't like the first nook very much, I still read the whole series. It turned out better than I'd thought it would.

#29: The Princess & the Pauper
Yuck. I don't klnow why I even read this book - it was full of cliches and nothing in the plot came as a surprise. Plus, several scenes were simply unbelievable.

#30: The Lightning Thief
It was good but didn't live up to all the hype.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

#31: The Sea of Monsters
Not nearly as good as the first book, but good all the same.

#33: My Sister's Keeper
I finally read this after many recommendations, and I really liked it. The writing style was amazing - I marvelled about it again and again - but the ending was lacking. It just seemed like an easy ending and it ruined a lot of the potential the overall book had.

Additionally I didn't like the random sideline love story between the lawyers and the GAL. I felt it was unnecessary and a distraction from what was really going on in the book.
