Chriss | 3 comments I'm always looking for good lexicons of old words, interesting histories of the English language, and general works of grammar propriety.

I also really like to review them on my blog.

Two of my favorite books on language and grammar are Made in America by Bill Bryson and The Superior Persons Book of Words by Peter Bowler (which my Dad gave me as a college graduation present).

Have a look through our threads Chriss....there is one in Grammar Central that deals with word origins, and one in language in Literature (I think) that is called Dictionaries.....there are others as well. You will find some good stuff there......eventually!

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) Hey Chriss that second book sounds interesting.

M | 113 comments There's a reference ambiguity in the thread's title. Do you mean books on language and grammar that are good, or grammar books and good language?
