Amber I. | 48 comments If you had to recommend a series from JR for someone who has never read it what series would you pick? Explain why.

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 219 comments Well, her Black Dagger Brotherhood series is what she's best known for. The "Fallen Angels" series is a spin-off from the BDB and there's only one book available right now (Covet). If you want to try her out, I'd suggest starting with Dark Lover, the first book in the BDB series. I love the third book in the series best, but it really depends on your tastes and I think the books would definitely make more sense if you read them in order.

Gokce G I haven't read the Fallen Angels series yet but I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood. It's a different take on vampires, and even though the language sometimes can put you off, I think it's worth a try. JR has a way of warming you up to her writing and the hot males who love to satisfy their females is always a plus :)

I agree with Harper in reading them in order. Dark Lover is a good intro to the world of the Brotherhood and the books just get better in my opinion.

Angela (angbens) | 343 comments I love the BDB. I love most of the books. There are a couple I don't think were as good. Covet was good, but not a fav. But then again, most first books of a series, are not usually the best one. So I am looking forward to the next one this fall.

Mhollie | 178 comments BDB. The characters are fantastic & the world the WARDen created is well fleshed out. Each book pulls you deeper & deeper into the Brothers' world, until you just can't get enough. With each book I fell in love with another of the Brothers!

message 6: by Amber I. (new)

Amber I. | 48 comments Thanks so much. When I was first looking into it, I didn't know most the books were part of the BDB series. I have now read the 1st 6 of BDB and I love them. My favorite is definetly the 3rd one.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments Is the third one Zsadists book?

My fave books are Wraths and Butch's. Lol the books I like the most are directly related to the characters I fancy the most, so that opnion is completely based in lust : )

message 8: by Amber I. (new)

Amber I. | 48 comments Yes the 3rd is Z's. I loved Wraths too. But for some reason I'm obsessed with Zsadist and Bellas story.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments I liked their story as well, it was moving, I like the way although things are more or less resolved between Bella and Z, you know that he is still tortured and not completely healed.

I think all the books have their good points, but I love Wrath and liked Butch from the start I was glad he got his own book.

Amber I. | 48 comments I'm glad you liked the last 2 so much I was a little worried they were slipping some. I wasn't as excited to keep going. I think so far the first 3 are my favorite the last 3 (I've only read 6) were not as good to me. I liked them but wasn't totally in love with them. I'm hoping the next 2 will be good.

message 12: by Gokce G (new)

Gokce G I freaking love this series!
The one complaint I'd have is the bad guys. They're not as good as they should be for such kick-ass heros!

Jen ~The dreamer~ | 649 comments I loved all the BDB books, but I think Lover Mine is my favorite so far....

message 17: by Rayna (new)

Rayna i know! definately agree!

message 18: by Gokce G (new)

Gokce G Lover Mine is my favourite so far, gotta say, JM's an amazing man. But Rehv is definitely a close one, yum-my.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments JM is a bit of a bargain as well, you get two characters for one : )

message 20: by UKSandy (new)

UKSandy | 72 comments My favourite is definately Zsadist but I loved Butch and JM and Rhev and V - in fact I loved them all but Zsadist stood out for me - Phury's was really hard going and probably the only one I haven't re-read.

LOL. So true!

message 22: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 10 comments I would definitely recommend BDB for sure and probably reading them in order would make the most sense, so I would recommend Dark Lover, but Butch's story was one of my favorites. :)

message 23: by Crazy4more (new)

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments I found myself drawn to Rhev the most. He's truly is the silent hero. I was so touched when he had the drugs and money on the table...No wonder his team would die for him or die trying.

message 24: by Yesenia (new)

Yesenia Hernandez (yeseniagoodreads) | 40 comments While I loved Lover Avenged, I adored Lover Awakened. Zsadist's character is so tortured and so alone. The opening scene where he jumps out of the truck and attacks the Lessers...oh yes...I could read that book for the rest of my life.

I wasn't really impressed with Covet but I will still give the next book in that series a shot.

message 25: by Crazy4more (new)

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments I'm not as impressed with Covet either but I'd read anything from J.R. Ward.

message 26: by Yesenia (new)

Yesenia Hernandez (yeseniagoodreads) | 40 comments same here...until it gets really bad but (fingers crossed) that will never ever happen

message 27: by Natyra (new)

Natyra | 24 comments I love the BDB books! my faves were book 1-3! and then the 4-6 were ok but not as good, but Rehv and Rhage are just yummmmy! and I also can't wait for JM's book!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments Hopefully you will like JMs book it is alot more like the first 3 where there is alot more focus on the romance story line

message 29: by Natyra (new)

Natyra | 24 comments I'm sooo happy to hear that cuz Phury's story was diapointing, it wasen't really his book, it was really unfocussed:( then Rhevs book was better but I was still hopeing for more.

message 30: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) I guess because I'd only read Dark Lover, I enjoyed Covet - maybe I would have been more biased if i'd read the other BDB books

message 31: by EvaS (new)

EvaS (evikes) | 48 comments I loved all the books for different reasons, but Lover Mine is now my favourite - Rhev's book is second, and the rest are all lumped into third place. I didn't enjoy Phury's story as much - something was just lacking in it for me, but I still enjoyed reading it. My absolute fav brother is still Wrath - the King is the man!!! And his story in Lover Avenged and Lover Mine just reinforced that for me.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments Wrath is also my fave brother, you gott alove the King!
