What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Many years ago I read a series of books about two brothers (not the Hardy Boys) who had amazing adventures. One of the books I can recall a little more clearly than the others was set in Africa. The brothers were in a hot air balloon which crash landed and one of the brothers landed on top of the other hurting him quite badly and had to leave his injured brother to get help. The only thing is, the injured brother was laying on an animal trail and the crocs were coming - unfortunately I can't remember what happened next.
