Blogs have an important role in the world of books and reading today...they've even been the inspiration for books themselves (EXAMPLE: Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen). For this task read a book that has been featured on your favorite book/reading related blog. When you post this task include a link to the blog and a review of the book.

If you need suggestions OR have suggestions for books to read for this task post them here.

And Tanja, when the first thing I see on the page is a video of Felicia Day, it makes me feel all happy inside. Now to go take a 30min break from book assignments to enjoy her awesomeness :3

message 20: by Jay (new)

Jay (jaydek) | 58 comments Cynthia - does it need to be a book featured on the website during the summer months? Or just at some point in the past?

Also, giving a shout out to my friend and fellow Goodreads member's great blog -- http://coconutlibrary.typepad.com/

Elizabeth (Alaska) I'm going to nose around on this site: http://www.redroomlibrary.com/

I'm laughing at myself because the author of this blog is a member of the National Book Critics Circle - the award organization I'd never heard of and from whom I'm reading for the award task.

Well I don't plan on deleting this thread...once the challenge is over it will go into the old task help thread folder...so it will be there to go back to.

Alice wrote: "Where is says include a link to the blog and a review of the book does that mean the link is to the review or that we need to write a review?"

You provide the link to the blog and write your own review of the book.

Christine US (christineus) | 575 comments If I don't remember the blog, but I know it exists...does that count? The Washingtonienne is based upon a blog of a young woman (truly she's more trashy than nice young woman), and I was living in DC when it came out and I remember the hoopla around it. It was definitely a real blog,my radio show had her on and was interviewing her and read from it.

Part of the task is to link it (in your task completed post) and read a book from it so you would need to find it to use it.

I am pretty sure that this was based on the blog "Washingtonienne" which is not current right now, but probably archived. Wonkette is the blog that revealed who she really was. You could google that and probably find the link.

Does the above work as a blog? It's a series of lists organized by fun topics & there is a brief review of each book on a given list.

No I would prefer people to explore blogs related directly to reading.

Generally speaking authors blogs are fine. Your link didn't work for me though so make sure it's working when you post the task.

Is this a blog? I don't read them so I'm not sure exactly what qualifies as a blog.

message 48: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I have a blog as well:

http://www.bookaddict.weebly.com

It is a light look at my obsession with books. I have some reviews that I will be adding in the next week or so, but I don't do the "standard review". If you took some time to stop by, I would be thrilled. Please leave comments or suggestions.

I follow Paper Cuts, the NY Times book blog- all their reviews are in the Book Review, but this blog provides interviews, author playlists, etc. Can I use a book featured there?
