Wilhelmina Jenkins | 229 comments As of Friday morning at 12:39 AM, I have a brand new grandson! This, of course, has me looking at books for babies. His big brother has all of the usuals from 8 years ago - Goodnight Moon, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, etc, plus some personal favorites like Joy! Joy! by Joyce Carol Thomas and When Mama Comes Home Tonight When Mama Comes Home Tonight by Eileen Spinelli . But I've been wondering if anyone knows of any really great ones that have been published in the last 7 years. Any suggestions?

Wilhelmina Jenkins | 229 comments Thanks, Abagail! Just think - another grandchild with whom I can read my favorite picture books!

Soothing stories for sleep time, beautiful, bright pictures for awake time, a little of everything! I'll check out the ones you've listed. Fun!

I love that one too, Chandra. Thanks!

Thank you, I will have to look into Bunny and Me. I noticed all three new babies in my family love books and they all have their favorites. I wonder what it is about Panda in the Park Kaylee loves so much? Izzy saw something in Mommy Loves Me.=)

Wilhelmina Jenkins | 229 comments Thanks for all of the suggestions! Crystal, Grandson #1 absolutely adored Baby Faces when he was a baby! And we wore out more lift-the-flap books that I can count!

Brenda | 192 comments Oooh bunny books. Although it is not recently published (copyright 2000), our all time favorite is Bunny's Noisy Book. The illustrations are adorable and filled with lots of different animals sounds to make as reading.

Janet | 7 comments There is nothing like the little fingers and toes of infants and this title captures that in a multi cultural way. It is a peaceful and gorgeous title in my opinion.Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes
