April 8th here - I was thinking the same thing Ann, I'd love to celebrate with book people :)

I'm definitely considering it! Its a few weeks before the 2011 Newburyport Lit Festival but hopefully I can get all my work done around it (and entice people to hit the festival at the end of April).

Ann..and Michael.. I am soo excited!! The Retreat sounds just wonderful. So, I was wondering..just how many people can the Inn hold? How many do you think will be attending..? What can I do to help?

I would even bring my sleeping bag and own pillow and sleep on someone's floor. That would/could divide a room cost by 3 instead of 2. (Of course, someone will need to bring a crane to get me up in the morning!)

Cristina, you live down here!!! That in and of itself thrills me, because I have no friends who read as much as I do, and they don't understand my book obsession.

Second, I will definitely consider that. I was debating either driving or flying to a friends house who is nearby and driving from there. As it gets closer I'll definitely let you know.

Wow!! The Inn has 18 rooms total, and 7 have either 2 beds or a bed and a pullout sleeper.

We'll work on an overflow plan in case we need it. There are lots of accommodations in the area, so we'll figure out what's recommended. We can have one "main" venue and a "satellite" location.

Once we get the official rates, we'll post them and announce them, and then let you know what date they will start taking reservations at that price.

I'm so excited! Can't wait to meet you all!!

Put me down as a definite "maybe" It sounds like the perfect vacation for me!! But I'm in Germany in the military, so I can make plans and then I might end up in a different vacation spot all together around that time :) But I'm going to forecast leave and start saving...

I'm in too! I live less than two hours away, so I don't even have to take Friday off from work! Woo hoo! I too was wondering about the amount of space. I suppose I could always come home and go back, kind of a long commute, though, just figured I'd stay down there with everyone.

And my birthday is on the 15th and I've already counted two other birthdays! As a cook, I will be more than willing to make a couple of cakes and bring them along! :-))

IF, and that's a big IF, it looks like 19 plus Ann & MIchael - unless we kick them out so we can have more room. (Just kidding, Ann & Michael.)

Don't worry!! We'll find a second venue, but we want to check it out in person or at least hear from people who've already stayed there. I have an idea, just need to check with a few people. If you want a higher-end option, there's always The Equinox, which is very expensive and has a hundred or more rooms.

I just talked to my cousin in NYC who says she might be interested but so would her friend in Vermont! - Her birthday is the following weekend (my cuz) and it will be a MAJOR milestone - one I reach in December. I was hoping I could bring her for her present.

I live in Lake in the Hills, NW of Chicago. I might end up flying as well, but I'd like to be able to save $ by driving if possible (plus more storage for the books I'll be purchasing!) Where are you in IL, Karen?

I live in Morris (SW), work in Vernon Hills (far NW)!
I'm also in a book club in Naperville and used to driving all over the suburbs.

I was planning on flying, though, to minimize my time off and travel time. Are you going by yourself?
