Elizabeth is correct the reading with style is separate from the core challenge itself - you can use the same books of course it just has different rules - and you can do one or the other or both if you choose.

Thanks."
It will end at the end of the day this Saturday.

You can but most do at most 1-2 short books.

Each book can only be used once (ie for one task)

Thanks, now I can begin planning.

The winners who will get to determine those 20 pointers will not be selected until the current challenge is over then I will contact them and post tasks as soon as they send them to me. Also additional 25+ pointers may be added as more players complete the challenge.

Dead Until Dark
Outlander
Poison Study
City of Bones
The Spellman Files
Vampire Academy
The Hunger Games
The Summoning
The Iron King . . . to name a few!
So my question is how do you go about reading series? Do you just stick with one series at a time & try to fit as many as you can into one challenge, or read one book from each series about once a month/once a challenge? I can't figure out how to go about squeezing all these series in with my other reads, especially with the limitations that a challenge can possibly create! (Sorry for saying "series" so much - that's a lot of Sss.)

Dead Until Dark
Outlander ..."
I managed to fit 3 Sookie books in (I have read 1-7 already though) and I fit in two books from the Hunger Games. The first is a group read and Catching Fire works for the Heat Wave task!

There are only 10 Tasks per point value. So if more than 10 people finish the person who finished first gets bumped up to 30 points and then the second person and so on. If more than 20 people finish then the 30 pointers get bumped up to 35 points again in order of finish. Hope this makes sense.

When you are typing up a comment there is a link that says add book/author you click on that type in the name of the book and when you fine the right one you hit the add button.

Above the comment box below the last post there is the "add book/author" link- click there and look for your book. At the bottom of that box there is an option for title or cover. The "some html is ok" link lets you do bold, italics, links, etc

Only 1 of each.

I listen to a lot of audiobooks, but I'm not listening to a 31-disc book!! (The unabridged audio of The Count of Monte Cristo was 35 discs...) So I'll READ read for that task! ;)

Again, Cynthia has the final say, but for the tasks that call for a specific number of pages (roll the dice, fairy tales, etc) I would assume you could choose one of the readily accessible "paper" editions listed on goodreads for page totals. I know I have hunted around the used book stores for a specific edition of a book to meet page requirements (Grapes of Wrath for 476 pages or Grapes of Wrath for 504 pages...).

Hi Nicole. At the halfway point a 50 point task will be added to the challenge. Have fun; the challenges are really great. :D

Nicole - welcome! At the mid-point of the challenge (July 15th) the person who has the most points creates a 50 point task.

Whoever is the challenge leader at the half way point gets to pick a 50 point task. :o)

At the end, people who have finished the Challenge get to pick some tasks for the next one. Many of us will never finish the challenge, so Cynthia has some "lotteries" that we can enter for the right to pick a task. Reading Goodreads authors or books longer than 500 pages are a couple of the "lotteries".
