Cindy (cindyjade) | 72 comments I am trying to figure out which series to start next, as I just finished the newest Sookie book. My choices are between:
Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid
Lynn Viehl's Darkyn
Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake or her Meredith Gentry
and Karen Chance's Cassandra Palmer.

I've heard good things about these in various postings, but I'm wondering which one everyone thinks I should go for next. Which was your favorite? (If you've read them anywho) I'd appreciate the help! I'm a waffler when I have too many to pick from but we just had a Friends of the Library sale here and I stocked up!!! :)

Michelle Gilmore Of the ones you've listed, I've only read LKH's Anita Blake series. I really liked the earlier books and that series, so I'd recommend moving on that one next.

Dawn (dawnv) | 320 comments I would do Kincaid series then Cassandra Palmer.

I was not a fan of Darkyn but I hope you enjoy it!

Scarlet (extraordinarygirl86) | 81 comments Georgina Kincaid is the only series I've read from that list. I absolutely love it though (I'm currently reading the second book) so I highly recommend you give it a try.

Deanne | 209 comments I would go with Georgina Kincaid it was really good. I love Richelle Mead, ThenI would go with Cassie Palmer, now I really liked this series but I have to say I was not a fan of the first book, so if you can get past that the rest of the books are really good.

new_user | 1389 comments I've read three out of the four. It's a tough choice. Georgina Kincaid is good mix of relationship/paranormal drama, but I've heard readers say they are really frustrated with the heroine's decisions in recent books, especially concerning her love interest. Do you have her Dark Swan series on hand?

You've probably already heard about the direction LKH's series has gone, LOL.

I didn't like Cassandra Palmer after reading the first three books, but you might if you don't mind time travel.

I really liked it, but there's more focus on the thriller/drama than the romance sometimes, and there's sexual violence/torture in the first, so you're forewarned.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments I have only read the Cassie Palmer series, which I really liked, so I would recommend that. There is another series connected to that aswell, the Dorina Basarab series which I thought was better.

Lara (elbe) | 39 comments I'll throw a vote in there for the Georgia Kincaid series. Just started book one and I've been flying through it. Not as much action as I usually would like, but very entertaining!

Additional thought - depending on the amount of romance you like in a book - the GK series (granted I'm on book 1) is way more "mild" in its love scenes and the Meredith Gentry series is much more....ummmm....pulse raising?! :). If that gives you any help. I know I prefer a more mild romance in my series and love it when I know ahead of time what I'm getting into and others prefer a little more steeeeam!

Mary (StylistMary401) | 6 comments The Merry Gentry Series is amazing ! Lots of sex, violence, and yummy men.....

Cindy (cindyjade) | 72 comments Lara - thanks for the info. It's nice to know what ur getting into. It depends on my mood (the amount of romance or steam:)). Sometimes I like ooey gooey romance, sometimes steamy stuff, sometimes more action or mystery than romance. But I like to get the gist of the series' before hand. So I appreciate it!!
