The Summer theme is “place”. Great mysteries *and* great locations. If you can't take a vacation, you can travel to a new place through a book!

Discussion will take place June through August and you can read any or all of the books. Check back often to see what others members have to say.

The Terra-Cotta Dog (Inspector Montalbano Mysteries) by Andrea Camilleri Ill Wind (Anna Pigeon Mysteries, #3) by Nevada Barr Unhallowed Ground (Harrison Investigation series) by Heather Graham The Third Man by Graham Greene Beach Music by Pat Conroy Charm City (Tess Monaghan, #2) by Laura Lippman A Tourist In The Yucatan by James McNay Brumfield The Savage Garden by Mark Mills

Looks good Donna!

I just recently Mooched The Savage Garden (which I bumped to the top of TBR), read Beach Music many years ago, and would like to read The Third Man, so I'm looking forward to the conversations.

I got The Third Man and Ill Wind from the library the other day and they will be next up on my reading list.

I am finishing up Black Cherry Blues: A Dave Robicheaux Novel by James Lee Burke and this book certainly would have qualified for this theme read. The descriptions of the Gulf coast of Louisiana and the wilds of Montana are spectacular. I am going to have to add both places to my list of great places to visit someday.

James Thane (jameslthane) | 123 comments Donna, You won't regret it. I spend six weeks every summer on Flathead Lake where the book is set in Montana, and it's my favorite time of the year. James Lee Burke taught for a while at the University of Montana which is what brought him to that area.
